The House of Da Vinci Reviews

Great game!really fun.

This game is a fantastic game! It’s super fun has no ads and if you need help or you are stuck on a puzzle there is often a hint button on the top right side of the screen and if that doesn’t help then go to YouTube to figure it out! Some people often play this game all day and the best part is you can redo the game anytime you’d like!

Quite interesting

This was a well thought puzzle game. Really enjoyed it. A few critiques from someone who plays these games frequently… the sensitivity of where you touch on the screen was sometimes really frustrating, as it kept pulling my iPhone menu down whenever I touched the top of the screen. Also, the fact that the game gives you free hints was awesome but not helpful a few times. The extra artifacts you accidentally find had no explanation at all. And moving some of the levers was truly a difficult endeavor on some of the puzzles. But all in all, it was a fun and challenging game to play. Will probably buy the 2nd one to see what kind of improvements they have made. Good job guys!

Update: don’t start over. it’s worse than original comment. I give it 0 stars! ————————————————————————— I’m playing game #1. Love the graphics but this game is so overly flawed. I do what it says and get it correct and it does nothing leaving me stuck having to put more into what I consider a nuisance. I will not be buying any more if these games. Good luck!

Hated it!

A very exciting mind exercise. I enjoyed it immensely. Was hard pressed to solve some of the chapters but managed.

A good long escape room puzzle game

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the higher difficulty. If you liked The Room you will enjoy this.

Touch response leaves much to be desired

EDIT AFTER PLAYING HOUSE OF DAVINCI II: Seems they fixed most of the issues that bothered me with the first iteration, glad I gave the 2nd a try. Touch response is much tighter. There are still some wonky perspective moments but it’s nothing like the first one. I’m several hours into House of Davinci II and really enjoying it. ORIGINAL REVIEW FOR THIS CURRENT VERSION: I had just blasted through The Room series and was looking for something comparable. This one is pretty ok but it has one issue that drove me absolutely insane, which is the way it responds to touch. You have to turn things JUST SO for them to work. If you don’t slide it EXACTLY into place, it’s a no-go. Really irritating after coming from The Room where things just click if you got it right so you aren’t left wondering if you didn’t straighten something that one fraction of a pixel in the right direction. Also, if you tap on something in the room to see if you’re able to zoom in on it, you can find yourself panning across until you’re back at the nearest item that actually WAS part of the plot rather than it simply not responding. If, for example, a stack of papers on a table isn’t part of the game then it should just not respond to touch rather than dragging me across the room so I have to reorient again. It’s overly difficult to try and get perspective on certain objects or just simply look around yourself. The knight’s armor, for example: I tried to maneuver the thing every which way and when I finally resorted to a hint: Lo! It was the armor after all, but all my tapping and turning kept getting me these weird perspectives that didn’t help lead to the clue. All that being said, there was enough interest that I’m going to give a later da Vinci game a shot in hopes they fixed these mechanics. The game itself would be cool if it wasn’t so dang hard to get the screen to respond as expected.
