The new app layout isn’t as great as it was. Now we have full face icons of Trumps lips. No thanks.
The Saturday crossword puzzle ends Saturday late afternoon and is replaced by the Sunday puzzle, even though the app shows % completed for the Saturday puzzle. Frustrating!
Only good as a resource to sniff what the donor class wants to hear.
Seriously annoying to not be able to go to the International section. I’m not at all impressed with the latest update. I would also like an easier way to clear the cache on this app.
I have the latest iPhone with updated software and this app just crashes. Unusable now. I deleted it and reinstalled and when I log in I get to step 4 of 4 where it hangs until the app, once again, crashes. Reinstalling changes nothing.
Please allow an option to remove stories readers dont want to read. For days, I see the same/stale headlines over and over again even though I don’t want to read them. This clutter may cause a reader to scroll past new articles or miss articles they want to read.
The app works good on my iPhone but has always been buggy on my iPad over the years, yes years. Crashes, doesn’t load correctly and freezes. Now they’re not supporting older operating systems so it’s completely dead on on my iPad. Between Apple’s planned obsolescence and The NYTimes, I’m pretty disappointed. And stop saying it’s about safety and security updates. It’s more profitable to force consumers into buying a new device.
Every morning I like to scroll the Today tab in NYT and WSJ iOS apps and save articles to Instapaper. Compared to the WSJ app this process takes more steps in the NYT app. WSJ app only requires tapping the share icon and then Instapaper icon. From the scroll list it is also possible to tap the listen and bookmark icons. ★★★★★ NYT app requires tapping the article, waiting for it to load, finding the share icon, and then tapping the Instapaper icon. ★★ Don't like this!
Some articles have the option to play audio that reads the article to the customer. But most don’t. As a result the app is not accessible to those of us with disabilities. The articles are great but that doesn’t matter if I cannot read them. Everyone should have access to the news. WSJ and Washington Post understand this and make all their articles accessible to everyone by providing AI generated audio that reads each article. NY Times should do the right thing and fix this shortcoming.
