Improvements
Regarding the magazine, the app could provide the same reading experience as MoneyWeek with text and images, but it currently only offers a PDF format. This means users have to zoom in to read the content, which can be inconvenient. Additionally, the app includes a podcast option, but it lacks support for background playing. This means that switching to another app or turning off the device while listening isn't possible, as the phone must remain unlocked on the app, consuming the battery.
Great content and good app (now!)
The content has always been excellent. The app is now improved. You can view it in a magazine format (like a pdf). If you then tap on an article you can read it in a mobile friendly format. Tap the icon at the bottom of the page and you go back to the pdf style. The best of both worlds…
Good content, shame about the app
I’ve been a subscriber for many years and have valued having access to the clear, user friendly app - easy to read, interactive crossword, click-through links. But then one day for no obvious reason the format changed, to a lazy PDF version of the magazine. Print is small, links don’t work, crossword has to be printed out to complete it, full of ads… it’s a really retrograde step. And phone calls to The Week got the response ‘that’s the way it is now’. So I’m unsubscribing.
A Great weekly treat
The WEEK is an extremely informative, wide ranging, well balanced publication which keeps one aware of the international news reports. My one huge disappointment is that following the death of the polymath Scottish artist, writer and painter John Byrne, there appeared to be not a single mention of this great man in your paper.

Hopeless app
I love The Week and have been subscribing since it’s early days. Wanting to be a bit more eco I decided to get the magazine digitally. I can’t get the app to work properly despite being told that they are working on it, so I have to go to the website each time. I’ve just deleted the app and hope that reinstalling may help. If it doesn’t work this time I think I will have to bin it
Great content. Awful app (March 2024)
Just upgraded the app and immediately regretted it. Now instead of an app designed to easily browse through the weekly magazine content in a structured and user-friendly way, they’ve just dumped digital images of each magazine page in the app, which you have to manually move around and zoom in and out of to read - which overall is cheap, clunky and creates an awful reading experience. Don’t bother with a digital subscription until this is improved.
Articles are good, app is poor
Really annoying how you can’t download and read offline.
Essential
Couldn’t live without you - the only sane voice in the universe.
Bad App Great Mag
Been a loyal subscriber of the Week for many years now but the app is not great. Downloaded copies get lost within a day (meaning reading offline is impossible). Cannot leave home without a hard copy as well.
Massively improved app
I love the fact I can access the magazine’s content in the same format as the printed version.
Small bug: pages appear duplicated, so I need to flip twice to get to the next page.
