If you only want to read it’s good but if you want to post some comments, you will be doomed. 90% of the time it won’t post and will spin indefinitely whatever the comment is.
You send too many! I don’t want to opt out but I have to! Please only send pushes when the news is actually relevant and important to everyone.
If you’re looking for actual journalism and news you won’t find it here. The content on the journal is basically just a press release for Fine Gael.
Not worth the effort
Their app support used to be responsive. I’ve emailed via the app many times in 2024 asking why my comments aren’t working. I have no idea if I’m block by their system by mistake or even correctly but I would accept if that’s the case. But it’s very unlikely. “The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format”
Clearly pushing their paymasters agenda. Really only use it to read the comments as most of the commenters far more articulate and intelligent than the actual “journalists”
Haven’t been able to comment for a while issues coming with font. So voted a single star.
The Journal writing standards are fine, and I make a voluntary subscription. It’s the comments that gets me. This publication seems to draw out all the bottom feeders in terms stupidity.
Most articles well written with the occasional clanger of badly worded headings. I find very little Irish bias or spin which is good. Can understand reasoning behind closed comments mostly eg legal proceedings, sensitive article, but can be frustrating when there appears to be no logic eg yesterdays report of a football match. I would like to see a reason given each time comments are closed. The growing trend of people commenting on other articles or going completely off topic is annoying.
