Thank you, developers! It’s a life changing app! Here are some ideas that would make the app more useful (for me): 1. More charts (donut is more eloquent to see how time was spent) 2. Adding categories and report by category 3. Every task shows the whole amount of time I dedicated to it, but I have life long tasks, so I’d like to see dedicated time over some period (for week or month)
Unfortunately it lacks the main feature I use - the automatic tracking function. You can still track time with it, but only manually. And if you have Timemator turned on on the desktop computer while tracking time on the iPad, the desktop version will think that you’re idling (when you’re not). This is very annoying and makes the app almost useless, especially as an addition to the desktop app.
I really enjoy your Timemator app. I appreciate how well-designed and thoughtfully crafted it is. Everything is optimized for ease of use, and the app offers attractive and insightful statistics. I also have some suggestions for improving the product. I’ve noticed a few issues and have some feedback that I believe could significantly enhance the user experience. 1. It would be great to add an option to display time logs directly within the main iCloud calendar. 2. In the mobile version, unlike the desktop version, I don’t see an automatic breakdown of where and in which apps time is being spent. 3. It would be useful to add a task entry feature similar to Toggl, where a button lets you start tracking with the option to add tasks and folders. Ideally, when entering a task, any previously recorded details would auto-fill. 4. Adding a widget, like the one in ATracker Pro, with buttons to quickly start time tracking for various tasks would be helpful. If it’s a brand new task, it could have a “+” sign for adding a new entry on the fly. 5. The “Add notes” window in the session view on iOS could be a bit larger (similar to ATracker Pro), as it currently only shows part of the text while typing, making it harder to review and edit descriptions. 6. Notifications on iOS sometimes display incorrect information, showing time logs from old tasks that are already completed. It doesn’t consistently display current tasks, which are often hidden or overridden by finished entries.
I noticed one day I had added 3 entires that they were all missing when I checked that evening. I added those same entries back in, and then noticed about 10 minutes later, Timemator automatically deleted them again. So I looked back over the last month, and noticed I have a lot less time entries than I know there should be. I shared this with the developer, shared a screen recording showing entries getting deleted without any interaction, and shared logs from the app. The developer never responded. This was over 3 months ago. I have no idea how much money this app has cost me, from it silently wiping out entries.
My roommate convinced me to start tracking my time since I have horrible time management. This is the app he uses and he’s a developer so he very picky. I love it so far!
You are a multiple b/millionaire company now that you associate with SetApp, yet the basics don’t work. I pause a task, it co tongues to run. I restart my phone, it continues. Stop innovating and focus on the basics.
Unfriendly to use and unpractical. I’m deleting it and closing the account, so better do not charge me after the trial, which I’m not even using it.
Quick update: As of the latest version of this app, for whatever reason, it is showing the titles of the "categories" twice, in bold letters, while using the app. This will need to be fixed.... (and update: This was fixed quickly by the developer within about 3 days!!!) Other than that, the app is awesome! Below is my previous review as of a few weeks ago: Where was this all my life??? I had been testing and using a LOT of time tracking apps (Tyme 3, GoodTask, TickTick, Session, etc.), all of them have their various strengths and weaknesses, but when I started using this app, what put me over the top with it (and ultimately sticking with it) is its Reports area! One of the biggest things that I am finding myself wanting to see when it comes to time tracking is the ability to, at a glance, see the breakdown of what I have been doing over time. Each of the aforementioned apps have their own ways of doing it, but when I was able to single-handedly click on any task or folder at any time, and see a breakdown of what I had been doing within that folder or task (or even series of tasks) over the course of a day, week, month, or year, that is a big deal…. Secondly, to see the money “coming forth” in real time after assigning an hourly rate toward a task or series of tasks is also an awesome feature…. All in all: The syncing feature of this app is top notch amongst all platforms (Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Watch), and with the latest addition of Live Activities toward the iOS platform, it is taking full advantage of the latest features of the iPhone and iPad, which also is great as well. I highly recommend this app to anyone who is interested in doing time tracking of their life, as it really shines once you start using it and seeing over time what you have been doing, which ultimately should help you in moving forward in this thing called Life!
I love the simplicity of Timemator. I’ve tried tons of time tracking apps but none of them have come close to the simplicity and usefulness of Timemator.
