Sonja Lang created the language Toki Pona in the year 2001. Her aim was minimalism. Toki Pona consists of only about 120 words, which are not altered. In accordance with the position in the sentence, the words can vary their significance. To describe more detail you have to combine words.
It is not the goal of Toki Pona to describe complex issues. Dissertations and scientific papers will never written in Toki Pona. Lawyers, bureaucrats, theologians and politicians are warned of the side-effect of this language.
It is not the aim of Toki Pona to solve the communication problems in the world. But you can learn this language in a month. Toki Pona is easy in an intelligent way and yoga for the brain. People who hate nested subordinate clauses and commas will certainly have fun with Toki Pona.

this is great! however, the courses are kind of dumb in some cases. specifically they include the period at the last word when it's "order these words correctly", making the last word obvious. then, the dictionary sorting is horrible. if I search for "ma", I don't want to first see "!", I want to first see ma. if what I'm searching is a full toki pona word, that toki pona word should be listed first.

Amazing app for learning Toki Pona! I saw that “wile” has 2 entries when you search it up in dictionary that lead to the same thing but overall amazing app! If I could put more than 5 stars I would!

This app is a one stop shop to learn the basics of Toki Pona and be able to get by in a conversation. I wish they would update the app with more advanced lessons, then the app would be 5 stars. It’s still far and away the best Toki Pona app on iPhone.

i tried reading pu and learned quite a bit from it, but this app is a very easy way to learn the language and practice vocabulary!
