The best

What’s so good about this animation app is that it caters for both the animators with limited skills all the way to very able creatives. Versatile and with choice of keyframes and/or frame by frame animations you can create the best results for how you choose to work. Rigging up characters is intuitive. Plus, you just pay once, no greedy subscription model. A winner!

Don’t buy Dreams

Hands down, best animation app available. Toonsquid is perfectly capable for professional animation. Dreams in comparison is more of a fancy flipbook.

Best animation app around

This is definitely the best app I’ve tried for animation. It has great features such as keyframing, transform layers and has good functionality for frame-by-frame. I would love to see some improvements to the drawing tools, including better brushes, an ‘automatic’ selection tool, and some effects (colour correction, blur etc.) Hopefully these can be added as the app is updated!

Great App, but the user experience is very poor!

I strongly think you should spend more time working on the UI and making it all more streamlined. I downloaded Callipeg, and although it has way less features as compared to ToonSquid, working on it was a lot more enjoyable and intuitive. All icons and functionalities are easily accessible, yet the user interface was less cluttered. In comparison ToonSquid looks like one of those very powerful software made by people with no UI and UX skills, making it a pain to use. Icons size (or size of everything for the matter) is important. Theme colours consistency is important. No need to make excessively big if it doesn’t serve a specific purpose. And if in doubt of a choice, give the option for the user to customise the it best fits his/her needs. I also think that more tutorials and a roadmap (at least of what’s to come in the near future) would help potential users in having more trust in investing money on a 1-dev-team app that no one knows where it is heading or if it even going to be supported in the foreseeable future.

Toonsquid has been a great animation experience

Incredibly easy to learn the basics if you search up tutorials. As someone who is very specific in needs of animation apps I was iffy about switching from Flipaclip. Learning Toonsquid was an absolute payoff though! I'm still learning the basics and other various things but it's been a great experience.

great app, hard to use.

there are a lotta tutorials, i know, but i struggle to use them. other than that, theres a wide selection of pens and image importing! 9.5/10 from me :3.

Just why?

Okay,It costs £10 just for an animation app which is off to a bad start.It is way too complicated for me and I had to google where things were,unlike FlipaClip which is way easier to use.The brushes are literally rubbing my artwork out like-why?I have a feeling of regret when I bought this app yesterday.

Incredible!!

I have never wrote a review of my own volition but for once I felt compelled to. This app has blown me out of the water and surmounted my expectations! It has an easy to use and intuitive interface with a handful of powerful features that both beginners and professionals can appreciate. Also the cherry on top, the relatively inexpensive price tag. A one time fee and it’s yours forever! Take notes adobe. Overall great app, definitely recommend!

I love this but ONE thing

I am begging you to let me draw rasterised brushes outside of the box perimeters It would save my life because the vector pens work so weirdly! Whenever I zoom too far out the size of the vector brushes disappear completely as well as this, I can’t alpha lock vector layers in comparison to rasterised layers. This is the only extra thing I want from this app because it works wonders in every other circumstance, mainly coming from my experience with flipaclip which was far more limited in it’s capabilities. Thanks for making such an amazing, easy and cheap app ToonSquid team!
