Description

Omada app is used for configuring and managing your Omada devices. You can change settings, monitor the network status and manage clients, all from the convenience of a smart phone or tablet.

STANDALONE MODE
Standalone mode is designed for managing EAPs or wireless routers right away without having to spend time configuring a controller. Each device is managed separately. This mode is recommended for networks which only have a few EAPs (or wireless routers) and require only basic functions, such as home network.

CONTROLLER MODE
Controller mode works together with a software Omada Controller or a hardware Cloud Controller, and is suitable for managing multiple devices (including gateways, switches and EAPs) centrally. Controller mode allows you to configure and automatically synchronize unified settings to the devices in the network. Compared to Standalone Mode, more configuration options are available and supports to manage more devices in Controller mode.
You can manage devices in Controller mode in two ways: via Local Access or Cloud Access. In Local Access mode, the Omada app can manage devices when the Controller and your mobile device are in the same subnet; in Cloud Access mode, the Omada app can access the Controller across the internet so you can manage your devices wherever you are.

Compatibility List:
The controller mode currently supports hardware cloud controllers (OC200 V1, OC300 V1), software Omada Controller v3.0.2 and above. (To experience more features support and more stable services, we recommend that you upgrade your controller to a new version).

Standalone Mode currently supports the following models (with latest firmware):
EAP245 (EU)/(US) V1
EAP225 (EU)/(US) V3/V2/V1
EAP115 (EU)/(US) V4/V2/V1
EAP110 (EU)/(US) V4/V2/V1
EAP225-Outdoor (EU)/(US) V1
EAP110-Outdoor (EU)/(US) V3/V1

EAP225-Wall (EU) V2
ER706W (EU)/(US) V1/V1.6

TP-Link Omada Reviews

Love Omada!

ASK1974 on

The Omada network solution is simple yet powerful, and the app provides a useful window into your network. Could include some additional features, but as it is it’s really very good.

Update has knocked clouds support out

Real life review 2004 on

United Kingdom

I’m writing this because since Omada updated for phone it keeps locking out cloud services and access. Phone version is broken after days of same having to reset everything as it works for a few day then locking out says ip isn’t what was set since update has known bugs it has broken more than they fixed. Laptop is needed to set and lock ip I set. But everything keeps get knocked out since update. Before update was working find did not even have to go in and set up things. Now it’s nearly every day now it locks me out of my own controller. What happened TP-LINK please fix faster then you normally fix bugs that crashes the whole system was great once now swam gone backwards and I have business grade hardware. As to-link 50 5g WiFi 6 has a paid wall that you have no control over. Basic levels lower with less settings but you can pay more more settings for security and privacy. So much for to link worse thank you Netgear

Too many steps

The app used to be slightly better in a sense that when you used to only have open your controller. Now I have to select the controller, then select what site… I only have one network so it’s always ‘default’ for me, why can’t it automatically open this network for me? Annoying. Also if I leave the app for more than a couple of seconds it takes me all the way back to the start. Again, annoying.

Very basic, doesn’t even work in landscape

I’ve recently swapped from Unifi to Omada and was hoping that this app would be as good as the unifi one. It seems it isn’t and won’t even work in landscape mode which is a pain when using a docked ipad. This needs a little more development still to include more of the features of the web portal.

Good app

Good app for basic network monitoring and configuration. Would be great if it could remember which tab you use (cloud vs local access) and not always reset back to cloud access when a user opens the app

Where’s the 2FA support?

Martin & Ben on

United Kingdom

When trying to log into the cloud controller it states I need to update to the new version of the app but there doesn’t seem to be an updated version. When will this be available please? Thanks!

Missing 2FA support

L3ni3r on

United Kingdom

This app used to be quite good enabling the discovery and adoption of EAP’s as well as basic management of the controller. But with the latest update to the cloud controller interface and the addition of 2FA this app needs to be updated ASAP. The app fails to login and advises you that the account has 2FA, then advises you to download the updated app (which doesn’t exist) and to disable 2FA (which doesn’t make sense). Please update the app to include 2FA.

Not great

Not user friendly. Can’t login with the app. Utter crap. If you are not IT savvy don’t bother.

Great app

But please add landscape support on iPad! Also secure Face ID Login.
