The ads mean you skip listings completely. It will jump down the page and there is always a house that gets bumped up without being seen. What a rort when you charge what you do. It freezes. Why can’t you do everything within the app. Needs an overhaul and money spent on it.

Doesn’t respect notification preferences

Have promotional notifications turned off, but still get pinged with them. Super scummy.

Doesn’t load half the time. When it does the app keeps asking for log in details. Have to reboot the phone to get the app to start.

I can’t put in my closest town so I can’t creat an account to use the app but i think once I can put it in it will be a great app

I have to say this app is average for two reasons. Firstly you can’t refine searches by price, which is super annoying. Second when you add items to your watch list you can’t set notifications which I then need to go onto trademe on my computer to set. Just saying, could be better.

Money hungry people behind trade me

At every turn on trade me you are getting screwed out of money. Can see why Facebook marketplace is growing so quickly. Trade me should be sweating.

Terrible experience

There is little help available in figuring out how to use this app and it seems well designed to get you into hot water. I had a horrible experience with it. While still trying to figure out how to use it I accidentally accepted an “offer”. I thought the auction had closed and didn’t think anything would even come of my clicking on the email after the fact. I discovered you can still be committed to buying after auctions have closed. I was still trying to figure out what it was all about at the time (very limited instruction or help available and no period of grace for new members) and only clicked on the email to try and educate myself. The seller then contacted me and I explained what had happened. I was willing to buy the table if required, but the seller said it wasn’t an issue and they’d happily sell the table to someone else/ wouldn’t be charged. I thanked them and thought all would be okay. Trade Me “customer service” posted a negative comment on my profile saying I had reneged on a commitment to buy without even bothering to ask what had happened. Next “trade” I try to buy something which was to be delivered. Commit to buy and realise my address was out of date and worry if I pay the delivery may go ahead to the wrong address. Try to update my address. Can’t do this on the app. Contact customer service, who can’t help. Contact the seller to let them know my address is incorrect. Hear nothing back from the seller for ~four days~. Am in a hurry for the item to be delivered and the seller doesn’t even apologise for taking so long to respond despite being in breach of the Trade Me terms which highlight that sellers must reply within 2 days. I have lost trust in seller due to them taking too long to respond so only offer cash on delivery. This was outside of the seller’s terms but was still generous given the “contract” was already void due to breach of terms. Seller starts spamming me with emails demonstrating no consideration of his breach of Trade Me (alleged) terms (Trade Me didn’t hold the seller accountable for this) of use at all and is just insisting he gets paid in advance anyway despite having proven himself indifferent to contractual terms. I’m feeling harassed now so contact customer service. Customer service reassures me any negative feedback will be handled due to a breach of terms. Seller gives me negative feedback on my profile. I respond with negative feedback and contact customer service. Customer service removes seller’s negative feed
