Thought this was great at first. It’s a bit like Yousician in structure but less childish. However, the recognition of your guitar is very unreliable, the sequence of chord learning is plain mad and the plodding repetition is a long way from music-making. Nah.
The app picks up sound from the last chord you’ve played and you lose score because it thinks it’s the wrong chord. You touch the guitar and it makes any sound, the app picks that sound up and thinks you’ve made a mistake. The explanations on the lessons are minimal so for a beginner it just assumes you know what it means. Huge potential but small things are overlooked
Really handy app good fun to go through and challenges you by giving you an accuracy percentage so you can push yourself. Only small downside is that it doesn’t always pick up your chords...
I have just renewed my annual subscription with UberCord.It is the nearest thing you can have to a supportive teacher by your side.The App builds up your chord playing, strumming, and chord playing by real time feedback on your progress. I have struggled on one of the sections.That said, I punched my way through by more practice and slowing down the section into easy manageable parts. I now have private lessons.This does not detract from my important core Uberchord work on a daily basis.I average 25 minutes a day on Uberchord and after a year I class my self as intermediate. There are about 4 key features.You can play songs as you become more competent and Uber unlocks the songs according to your ability. You can complete the actual course, plus you can master your strumming and chord skills in another section.Overall, an invaluable aid to learning the guitar.
***UPDATE**** So I support contacted me after leaving my review and advised that you need to use something like iRig with the app for it to work properly with an electric guitar. So I bought the iRig HD as I wanted one anyway for other apps I use and have to say the app works flawlessly. Why the 4 stars? Pricing I feel although a good app it is highly priced. ******* I have been using this for a solid few days and I loved it to begin with. However it now has started saying I am playing things I am not so it’s a bit hit and miss good when it works poor when it does not, its a shame. I know it’s not my guitar as it has been to a luthier and works spot on. I really wanted it to work not just 50% of the time.

Won’t let me go passed G, keeps telling me not to finger strings I’m not even on. Won’t be buying the paid version!
I’m an absolute guitar beginner so am no authority on this - but I find it excellent. It’s thorough, fun and extremely clever. Makes learning a real joy - bravo to the app creators!
Playing the right note but it’s saying I’m putting fingers on strings that I’m not, you can’t skip if it’s you all ready know what to do and takes ages
As there is no lefthand guitarist support I will not be buying
