Description

Time will fly by, you just watch. There's something for everyone, free on your next flight.

How Does it work?
- Use your own device, because we know that's the screen you like and by not fitting an in-seat screen this reduces fuel = less emissions.
- Be sure you have the most current operating system (e.g. iOS 13 or later). Unfortunately older devices may not handle the features in this app - we're really sorry about that.
- Once onboard, firstly set your device to flight mode and then connect to the Virgin Australia WiFi network . When connected to the onboard WiFi network, launch the app and then start exploring the hundreds of hours of entertainment.
- With 350+ hrs, including recent release movies, over 400 TV episodes, as well concerts and interviews with music industry legends we are sure you will find something to entertain.

Top Tips: Please do check for updates before you fly, make sure your device is fully charged and consider bringing a battery pack for longer flights and don’t forget your earphones!

Why is this App?

Let’s put aside the fact that every other airline post 2000 has a proper built-in seat-back entertainment system with a USB charge port and a plug for your laptop. And let’s forget the fact that if you have a device with you, chances are it’s loaded with your own media, media you might actually WANT to play. Yes, let’s put a pin in those inconvenient truths and concentrate on the positives of this ‘interesting’ app. Like the fact that it’s now at least 30% functional. It’s clear that no expense has been spared in outsourcing the development to a kid in Bangalore who cold-called via email then barely changed an existing template. Another bright side; the app makes the flight go quicker by chewing up your time with hit and miss navigation. It also ensures you don’t drift off to sleep - you have to progress to the next song in an album manually almost every time - even when playing the album as opposed to individual tracks. On top of all these ‘interesting’ features, the app also introduces you to new music by playing a different track to the one you select about 50% of the time. All good fun, however there were some negatives. Lack of depth in selection - to be expected given the shoe-string nature of the entire service. And somehow you’re supposed to know to download this bloatware “before the door closes”, wade through the wordy instructions and figure out how to use it. In short, this clunky, ill advised app probably shouldn’t exist. Virgin should just spring for a decent seat-back system like everyone else. And while they’re at it, some decent seats.

Pretty good

It’s quite a good app, it worked onboard our flight to the Gold Coast. The problem is you need to fly on a plane with good wifi and you must not have Bluetooth on or it effects your connections. There isn’t much choice a part from several movies, games and TV Shows, you can also watch how far you are away from you destination! Overall is good.

rubbish

although this is an extremely good idea, it doesn’t work! i tried on an iphone 5s, 8+, one plus 6 and also a samsung galaxy 9 (not all mine) and none worked. all that happened was, once you selected a movie or whatever you wanted to do, a black screen with a play button would come up and nothing could happen. we asked a flight attendant also, and she wasn’t very helpful.

Works ok

Problem is that while you have to use your own device they are unable to provide any USB charging points. So on a longer flight or with connecting flights the battery dies and you are left with nothing unless you want to rent one of their devices. Content on the flights is pretty bad as well with below average old movies and programs recycled again and again. Poor showing Virgin. I try not to fly virgin but with codeshare it is damn near impossible.
