Vitality UK Reviews

Awful. Glitchy. Doesn’t track your activity. Why bother?

BaseTheory on

United States

This app is ridiculously glitchy and rarely actually tracks any fitness activity. It seems very convenient to Vitality to not track activity points when benefits are rewarded on your activity. “Oh we didn’t happen to track your activity. Just in time to charge you more and not give you the rewards that you are due”. You can get in touch with proof of your activity. When it’s missing months of data at a time, and regularly needing you to submit a form to get your activity recognized, and filling in one of these forms conveniently crashes the app as you swap apps to get the information they need, you’re better off just making a publicly visible bad review.

Vitality UK app

The app is absolutely trash. Unresolved issue of a linked Fitbit to the app for MONTHS. When trying to manually add in things like flu shot record, will time out and not accept the log.

Terrible document access

mondayboy on

United States

When you click through to check documents (such as plan details, Ts and Cs), they download as PDFs. Fine if you’re on a desktop computer or laptop, all but useless on a phone. This is less of an app, more a gateway to the website.

Mostly worthless

This app’s horrible design costs me money because it’s not capturing all of my activities. Also just generally poorly designed and crashes all the time

Never works. What’s the point?

K8mnstr on

I have similar issues with it never connecting to my activity and not giving me credit for my Apple Watch. And I work out all the time! Then telling you to look at FAQs and connection guides is not helpful. Just make your app work. Otherwise it’s kind of like false advertising.

Poor performance and design

Clunky and outdated. Very cumbersome to use, rarely works.

App rarely works

I am constantly contacting Vitality to correct my points. I have a loan for my Apple Watch with the payments directly tied to my activity level, but I’m paying too much because their app doesn’t work. Then their support system is disjointed and inefficient. As a company they have great incentives to stay active and receive various discounts, but since their technology is more or less useless it makes us question even staying a client all together.

No user consideration in designing the app

Hi product managers and developers, I know you probably realized that those who insured with Vitality will definitely use the app, but that doesn’t give you the privilege to make it worse than last version. 1. For cinema ticket rewards, why do you require every member under the plan to finish its review in order for any member to claim the rewards? While as in last version as long as I finish my review I can claim my ticket. Product managers do you really finished the beta testing? Please just make it reasonable. 2. All the points that I collected in last version are gone. I started from fresh. Really? I would rather believed it is intentional than mistake. Because the higher points leads to higher ranking (bronze, silver and gold), and higher ranking gives customer higher benefits(like £50 subsidy to £75 subsidy into certain categories for example). Clear it all could save the company some bucks which might eventually land in the pocket of the marketing team or product managers. Not cool. 3. In the transition from 1-week to 2-week cinema tickets it automatically clears the previous week’s rewards. Say week-1 you earned your 12 points, then it says please get another week of 12 points which make sense. Then after I upgraded the app in the 2nd week, my 12 point achievement in previous week got deleted. So I have to collect another “two week” for the reward. That’s a total of three weeks. In summary, looks like all the negligence in this app upgrade works against users. For an insurance company that suppose to create a sense of insurance and comfortability, this is really on the other side of the image. Product managers, PR teams and developers, please fix them properly.

Worthless.

app is constantly loads but doesn’t load. Just rubbish

Save yourself

The app doesn't work properly. Points don't sync in a reliable way. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. All other apps that read this data don't have a problem. If they don't sync you have to go through the annoying process of contacting Vitality. Don't go with Vitality, use BUPA and buy yourself and Apple watch. Save your sanity
