“Can these guys do no wrong? Seriously, if only other app devs knew how to make apps as well as these guys, the world would be a better place. Or at least my device would be less buggy. I was just watching a Full HD copy of Avatar Extended Edition being streamed from my PC on my iPod Touch 2nd Generation and it looked and played amazingly.”
- UK Reviewer
“…it's as good as having the original VLC player on your iOS device…”
- CallingAllGeeks.org
“…Setup is a snap and literally takes 2 seconds. You can browse through all your movies from your device and click any one to start playing. It even works if you have the movies stored on a USB drive connected to the host computer.”
-The Times of India
“Took me seconds to setup to stream from a secondary drive in my home office. Going straight out to get a cable for my TV.”
- USA Reviewer

VLC Streamer Reviews

Buffering…. Buffering… Buffering…

TheMetalWeasel on

Australia

I have 100Mbps down, 40Mbps up, am using the same wifi connection at home on the same network and every time the video takes over a minute to start playing and it keeps stopping to buffer constantly. I’m only using 1080p quality and it’s still slower than a Monday at work with a hangover. Won’t be subbing, will find a different app for my streaming. App deleted.

Why subscribe?

Baggy Bot on

Australia

Why would you pay an ongoing fee to subscribe when VLC Streamer Pro does exactly the same thing, and it is ~$5 AUD one off payment? And from what I can see it is made by the same company…

Buggy, ripped off

Fishsmuggler on

Purchased the full version in the bundle, the next day the app ceased to recognize and pair with my PC. After trying to pair extensively, I deleted the app to try and reinstall, however it is asking me to pay again! Don’t buy!

Does everything it's supposed to. Only issue I have is wifi connection drops out sometimes and have to exit movie to get it to reload.

do not buy

Pronto72 on

it does not work on ipad. it will prompt you to go to a website where it tells you that there is no support for your mobile platform. $4 wasted. disgusting

So irritating it's unbearable and unwatchable

Richard Mahony on

Australia

The good: by far the easiest installation on the PC and subsequent use on the iPad of any home video streaming app for the iPad out there. The bad: the free version is the most annoying free app ever. The banner at the bottom is so intrusive and irritating that it makes the video unwatchable. And it's so infuriating that the last thing one wants to do is pay a single cent to the author for the banner-free version.

Stupid Me

Hjjkkbvbm on

Australia

I updated the app because it said that it offered more support but all it did was imprint adverts on my screen and asked me to update. Also, it seems to have issues playing most types of files

Could be great...

mad4max on

Hey, here's an app that works, does pretty much what it says. What more could you want? Easy. Put a price on it and don't trick people into downloading it and then hit them with ads for things they will never use, and, this is the important bit, pay for. I would have happily paid for this app, but there are others that do the same job and put their cost upfront. Need to do much better.

Looks suspicious

Whocaresitsjustanick on

Australia

So it can't connect to Windows shares unless there is some 'helper' installed. I'm not gonna check if and how much Trojan software that helper contains. Removing this app now.
