Volv – News in 9 seconds

Hey Volv’s UX & Analytics team, please do fix the app. If you’re seeing a drop in user engagement, it’s likely because other people are having the same issue as I’m having… Not sure if this helps you spot the problem, but here’s some context: - I have an iPhone 14 pro max, I must have gone through your “welcome journey” about a billion times at this point. - Every time i try, I can’t get past the “upload your picture” screen. - Wether I upload a picture or press “skip”, I get stuck on a blank, blurred background. NONETHELESS… — I still get push notifications… when I click them, I get looped back into the “welcome journey”*** *** this is specially frustrating because the notifications are usually very interesting & clickable. In summary: I love this app and it’s content. The value proposition is on point, Please let me use it again. Thanks Thanks!

I’ve had the app for at least a year now, maybe longer. It constantly is unable to refresh the feed. Sometimes it just shows me nothing.. needs a lot of work

Until recently, this app did what a bite-size news app should: provide quick summaries of news items, along with source links so you can learn more. But now, they’ve removed source links. So the depth of the app is gone, as is any form of attribution. You can’t trust anything in the app, because you can’t see where it came from. At best, this is stealing content without crediting the source; at worst, they may be summarizing content from thoroughly untrustworthy sources and passing it off as truth. Or just making it up entirely. There’s no way to tell. Either way, the ability to read more was key. By embedding the link browser within the app, it made the entire experience sticky and valuable. Not anymore. The other changes to the app are fine. There’s a paid tier, and news items that are clearly ads. They need to monetize, and those are reasonable strategies. But I wouldn’t recommend the app to anybody now.

Smart content bite sized and made for me

I used to enjoy this app for bite-sized news snippets in a modern format, but all the articles (and *especially* the notifications) have turned into nonstop shameless clickbait. I get plenty of “You’ll never believe what Celebrity A did this time…!” or “Guess who just revealed they are actually an extraterrestrial?!” in the checkout line, thanks.

The apps notifications are not working and keeps toggling off every time I exit the app. I tried to send feedback through the app feedback option and that too is broken and the button wont send.

Really loving this simple quick news app. Great balance of interesting articles and news I actually want to read. Keep it up!

I really like about 60% of the content shared on this site. The concept is great to have summarize new stories with the option to link to the actual full story. If you want more reading, they do a great job with this. I’m getting multiple news genres all at once in a few sentences is pretty great. The downside is the articles are politically biased, which I was hoping to avoid.

Has trouble refreshing feed? Even removed app and reinstalled and still won’t refresh? HALPPPP

Had this app for about two days. Only gave me crappy pop culture news. Not only was it news I didn’t care for, but it was ALL negative. I tried their filtering, selecting the topics I was interested in, and received news about none of the topics I selected. I tried selecting all the topics I didn’t want to see if maybe that’s what I was supposed to do, and still received the same.
