So appreciate the weather x app and it’s notifications of upcoming pressure changes to prepare for my migraines. It would help to possibly have the graph extended to 12 or even 24 hrs to better assist with accuracy in sensitivity settings for notifications. But otherwise a very helpful app :))
I can’t speak to the effectiveness of the ear plugs and have only used the app, but it’s the only place I’ve found that will provide both a forecast and history for barometric pressure. For those of us with health issues that flare up with major pressure changes, it’s helpful to get alerts when a change is coming or to be able to look at what’s been happening with the pressure to understand if it’s responsible for a recent change in symptoms. I’ve recommended this to several fellow POTS and Long COVID patients after a sudden weather front led to really quick and scary cognitive symptoms that basically put me out of commission for half a day. The app or earplugs may not be able to prevent to treat everyone’s symptoms, but the information itself is valuable! Thank you!
I was looking for an app to alert me when there were pressure changes, and the app can do this if there are large changes in the pressure. However, if the pressure change is gradual, it will not alert me for those changes. So after a few hours I will feel a difference but the app didn’t alert me to the drop in pressure. Also, the app alert is not helpful because it doesn’t say if the pressure change is positive or negative, and then I have to open the app anyway to see what kind of pressure change it really was. Not as helpful as I would have liked, but if I watch the app then I can tell when to make sure that I take my meds.
I really appreciate being warned that a shift in pressure is coming.
App refuses to update to current location, rendering it useless when not at home. Data conflicts greatly with weather underground. The ear plugs help but do not eliminate issues with barometric fluctuations.
The earplugs work wonders for someone like me who has severe, chronic, migraines and many are caused by the barometric pressure changes. The two things I wish we had options on is color, specifically a clear, or less muted colors for wearing in public, but most importantly a way to log migraines within the app. Nothing special, but it would Help me tremendously to track just a simple little mark a migraine here at this time in order to see if it’s always a pattern based on the pressure. While there are tons of migraine logs out there, it’s a pain to go back and forth if I want to see a history when most of those don’t contain the information yours does.
I just love this app. I suffer with chronic migraines. This app gives me a warning of an impending migraine. I can take my meds before I go out of my mind in pain. It is so accurate. I only wish I had found it sooner…like 30 years sooner.
I am afflicted with barometric pressure related migraines. No only do I have the classic symptoms I also have sudden piercing transient ear pain like someone stuck an ice pick in my ear. My Weather X ear plugs (ordered directly from the application) are a life saver. I also use them when flying because if I don’t I feel excruciating pain upon ascent and descent. Thank you Weather X.
The inexpensive WeatherX earplug system, along with the free app that not only tracks changing barometric pressure in your region, but warns you when it is advisable to wear your earplugs is an easy-to-use life-saver (in terms of avoiding the onset of a debilitating crushing migraine headache). The app also projects out into the near future to let you know of developing weather patterns that might trigger migraines in those susceptible to barometric pressure shifts as a trigger event. I suffer from the horrible triad of severe headaches: Increased Intracranial Pressure; Cluster; and, Migraines. While Rx Ubrelvy can assist once a migraine has taken hold, how much better is it to forestall the onset of these day stopping pain events? It’s a great non-drug, noninvasive, inexpensive, yet usually highly effective tool to have in your migraine headaches toolkit.
