what3words: Navigation & Maps

Okay, they have done exactly what they say, but is it useful though? Some scenarios might make good use of the app but you will have to be sharing with your friends weird locations that google doesn’t have and it’s easy to get lost. Bottom line when people ask me where I live I will still give my address and not whiskey.tango.foxtrot or whatever.

What a fiddly app I find it frustrating to use

As a member of the emergency services I was sent tonight to a person who gave me their what three words location . In the next two and a half hours this location changed THREE TIMES on their app yet they had not moved! This meant multiple agencies in a big convoy were led on a wild goose chase around the countryside until we managed to find a different way of locating the people. We even had people at night walking dangerous mountain terrain to get to the location with no one there!!! This is dangerous! I feel so strongly, as if this person had been in a life threatening condition they may well have died by the time anyone got to them. There are other apps who give you a grid reference that you can pass on to emergency services. WTW you need to address this problem immediately !

I have not used this app as in measure of emergency situation, but based on the quality and services provided in the app, it seems to be incredibly useful in event of emergency, so I have the app installed on the phone ready to be utilized in the event of an emergency.

I was on a narrowboat recently and needed an ambulance. Call centre said they couldn’t put us in the system if we couldn’t give them a postcode even though we knew exactly where we were on the canal. We were able to use What3words to guide the paramedics to us.

This is such a timesaver, the research & accuracy checks are done with a tap of a stylus. W3W you are a life & timesaver. I’ve never used anything else since I found you. Thank you.
