Collins English Dictionary で Noguchi を検索すると、 Hideyo 1876-1928, Japanese bacteriologist, active in the US. He made important discoveries in the treatment of syphilis とある。 Wikipedia 英語版にも国籍は日本と書いてある。 当辞書アプリで noguchi を検索すると 2人がヒットする(1項目だが)。イサム・ノグチはよいとして、野口英世については次のようにある。 United States bacteriologist (born in Japan) who discovered the cause of yellow fever and syphilis (1876-1928) Chambers の英英辞典は、カス、クソ、ゴミだ！ (プリンストン大の腐った WordNet の元ネタは、この辺にありそうだ。)
わかりやすい
英英辞書なので類義語が充実していて、難しい単語も自分の知ってる単語に置き換えられます。英和で訳を探すよりも、英英の類義語で訳す方が自分の言葉で訳せるので綺麗に文章が組み立てられます！
重宝しています
無料の英語の辞書は他に数が少ないので、重宝しています。 英単語を検索して単語のページに移動した後に検索に戻るには、右上のボタンを押すようになっています。他のアプリで「戻る」は左上なので、なかなか慣れません。 発音は、発音記号ではなくアルファベットを当てたものになっています。 それ以外の使い勝手はOKです。

かなり使える。ジャンプして検索出来るのが勉強になるよ。頭良くなりそうです。
この語彙量と機能で無料？
語彙が豊富に思えたので、試供のつもりでダウンロードしました。利用してみてびっくり、かなり専門的な語彙も出てきます。たとえば”apodize”とう単語は、私の持っている他のどの英和辞書、英英辞書にも出てこないのですが、このWordWebなら出てきます。これで無料なの？というのが信じられない気持です。英語の説明で分からない部分はその部分をタッチすればジャンプしますし、英和辞書よりこちらの英英辞書のほうが結構気軽に利用できるような気がします。

3gsで検索ワードを入力しているとアプリが落ちます・・・。
これで無料は素晴らしい
分厚い辞書を持ち歩くのにうんざりしていました。かといって豆辞書では単語は一万数千程度。そこでiPhoneに乗り換え、何かいい辞書はと探し、とりあえず無料の辞書を使ってみることとし、これをダウンロードしました。まだ使用し始めて２週間程度ですが、単語は豊富で素晴らしい。これで無料とは嬉しい限りです。
