Worrydolls

Tiny dolls to remove anxiety

Published by: Peter Wieben

Description

Worrydolls gives you a small doll who is ready to listen to what is worrying you. Tell your worry to the doll, then track it over time.
You can use Worrydolls like a journal to help you overcome anxiety and stress.
The idea of worrydolls started with the indigenous people of Guatemala. The first worrydoll was given to the princess Ixucane as a special gift from the sun god, with the promise that the worrydoll could handle any worry a person could have.
Ever since, tiny worrydolls made leftover cloth have been given to worried people. Whisper a single worry to the worrydoll, and hide it under their pillow. As soon as the worrydoll is told the worry, sorrow, or fear, it takes the burden and carries it from then on.
The app works the same way! Just tell a single worry to the Worrydoll, and the Worrydoll will carry it for you. In this way, you can have worrydolls on your phone.
When your worry is finished, you can tell the worrydoll that he/she does not need to worry anymore. You can always look back at your old worries to feel a sense of calm.
My grandmother gave me tiny worrydolls because I was always worrying as a child. Now, you can have Worrydolls on your phone. I hope that the worrydolls can help you just like they helped me.

I have suffered from Generalised Anxiety disorder for YEARS. Due to not having the financial aid to get professional help from a clinic psychologist. I’ve spent years trying to have my own “mental health / life belt”. My primary issue was overthinking and really bad rumination— this app came out from researching for cheaper alternative self care. I’ve been loving the app so far, no ads, nothing I could write my inner negative thoughts without feeling like the app is bombarding me to “pay” for added features. I just wanted a place to write my rumination thoughts somewhere. I feel like the doll has no judgements over what I’m writing. And for the first time I actually cried it felt so good to be honest with my thoughts and not feed had to type something. I highly recommend this app this app is great for late nights insomnia to just write down the thought and when you no longer need the doll it’s in a cute little area where the doll stays to let you know that you’re not longer worrying about the problem. Thank you so much for making this app!

Not gonna lie you should try this game because when I started it I created my problems and soon after it made me proud of this app.

i downloaded this app because the design is so cute, thinking it probably wouldn’t be helpful and i’d uninstall it immediately. the design is delightful and i thought i might give it a go and tell a big worry i have to a doll. i have no idea what happened, but i felt relief almost instantly. it’s as if writing out my looming constant existential worry for a doll to hold freed my mind up knowing that the doll is worrying instead of me. the doll is keeping it safe, so i won’t forget the importance of it, but i’m now free to live my life. i can return to the worry whenever i want, but i don’t hold it myself. thank you from the bottom of my heart, dev(s). what a wonderful little app you have created.

100% recommend!!!

I just downloaded the app today and am already in love! Such good value for money with Magic Mode and the minimalist theme instantly soothes writing anxiety. I particularly love the “finished worries” feature as you can look back and track your anxieties.

This app is really good because I can tell my worries to a doll and tell them to stop worrying, this game is truely amazing and I love it so much. I would definitely recommend it!

Nice way of imagining worries

I really love the concept of worry dolls. Such a neat idea and visual way of depicting worries. Love the simplicity of the app too. Prefer this over just a text list of worries and makes it easy to add multiples.

Amazing

Only been using this app for a short period but I already love it. A small issue I’m facing however is that I cannot read whatever I tell the dolls because the text is so long, it runs off the screen.
