Yandex Translate

I have been using a couple of translation apps for English<>Chinese and English<>Thai. Decided to give this app a trial due to being able to translate offline, and I began with English>Thai. When I copied the Yandex translation into the other two I use, to go from Thai>English it didn’t make much sense. Added to that, when I tried using Yandex to translate Thai>English, all it did was duplicate the Thai in the output view. One thing I did like is that when playing the translation, the second time it played it was nice and slow (although that is an option in one of the others that I use). Suggestion: When playing the audio translation it would be neat to highlight each syllable so that it can be followed visually.

Очень хорошее приложение, но удручает новое оформление истории переводов. Раньше слева было слово на английском, а справа на русском. Очень удобно можно было учить слова. Теперь русское и английское слова пишутся друг под другом. Учить очень неудобно. Было бы очень здорово, если бы была возможность самому выбирать оформление истории.

Beats the likes of Google Translate. Provides accurate translations WITH examples and related words. The bookmark and history functionalities are also really neat!

I’m an English speaker learning Russian. This is the best translator app I’ve used, compared with both Google Translate and the new iOS14 Apple app. Its superpower is translating idioms. Not only does it make a very good guess from context instead of translating words literally; it shows lots of quotations from subtitles of TV shows and movies so you can easily find the mood that you intended. These idioms are often short phrases of common words so it is very difficult to look them up in a normal search engine. Like any translator you need a solid awareness of Russian grammar to use the output properly. If I could request any new features, it would be more metadata about the gender and case of each word to help learners like me, and maybe a way to force the gender of a particular English word. Thanks for the great app!

As a native English speaker, I really appreciate that native Russian speakers have designed this software. In particular I love the variety of sentences in Russian that show the variations in Russian use of a word or phrase. This helps me find the exact meaning I’m looking for.

Far more versatile and accurate than Google's or Bing's counterparts.

Its great you can use it offline..
