This is more of an interactive novel than a full on RPG, but it’s a very enjoyable one. If you don’t want to experience a story, don’t bother but otherwise I’d definitely recommend.
Whilst the story will always follow the same major plot beats, your choices do lead to some interesting outcomes. Whilst the plot is nothing mind blowing, it’s well told. The characters are pretty well written too.
For a few dollars, I’d say it’s worth it. I’d love the devs to make a follow up with a more widely branching narrative.
Illusion of free will
None of the decisions you make have any real impact on the outcome of the game. This ruins the enjoyment and replayability of it. The game lacks depth and for the most part outcomes of actions are very obvious. There is also very little skill involved in decision making / resource management. Not worth paying for - turn your data off and you can play it for free.
Issue - Lost Progress
Hi! I paid for the full game, and have been enjoying it so far… The issue I’m now having is that the screen freezes when I press the ‘Continue’ button on the main screen… When I press ‘Load data’ it appears that the past 10 week game files or so have all disappeared… (After the main battle). You can understand that this is a lot of time spent playing the game. Would appreciate if this issue could be resolved. Thanks!
Generally Amazing
Not what I thought, but it was a very nice surprise. Even though some of the cut-scenes and walls of text are annoying, the game is very good. Unlike other games, it has an interesting story whilst being easy to navigate. It’s art-style works very well, and it definitely has a lot of potential for expansion in the future.
Finished the game and it was amazing
The storytelling was amazing. You genuinely end up invested in the outcome for characters and your decisions matter a lot.
Not what I thought
When I had first seen this I was like “what this is on mobile”so I went and played the free demo and it is amazing I have nothing bad to say about it I’m definitely going to get the full game
Sensational
Stunning game! From the story to the simplicity of the art. The endless possiblities and decisions keep you on the edge of what will happen next!
Finished the game.
It was an ok game. The story was also alright. However it seemed railroaded without many branching stories.
Suzerain it more in depth and populated with end branching stories. However Suzerain suffers from walls of text that cannot be skip effectively.
Yes, your Grace! Is a simpler game with wonder graphics and short to the point text and story.
For $5.99Aud it might be too much, however with the perceived replay of maybe 3 times could be acceptable. I hope that there is a release of more stories or expansions “heir storyline” in the future.
Good game
I mostly enjoy this game…I do not like that the King cannot have one of his daughters as his heir. Pretty limiting & gives the age old idea that girls aren’t good enough;P Also I do not like that you are locked into basically selling your eldest(13 yrs old!) daughter into marriage. This followed by not being able to prevent the poisoning at the wedding.
I love the challenge of trying to pick the best path with the choices we make, but we are automatically locked into a pretty dark path by no choice we make. It limits the game by a lot! This says nothing about the desperate bid to do a super risky ritual to attain a male heir…there is a lot that could have been done to make this game stellar but after playing one pass thru & finding some seriously important choices taken from me, I dunno if I will continue playing.
Meh…
It fails to deliver on its key principle of making choices that really impact the story.
The story outcomes are too limited, especially with the family interactions. They either die or end up in a single situation. I was hoping for actual variation in the outcome and story, like pick your path mystery/adventure novels. The same is true of the combat. There is a little more variation with the lesser lords, but it doesn’t affect the larger story.
The atmosphere of the game fits with the medieval Slavic theme really well, but the dialogue is more modern and doesn’t fit the context as well. It has a lot of game cliches about the medieval world - you can generally guess who/what is good and bad based on surface level modern sensibilities (the church is evil, earth magic is good, execution is bad, arranged marriage always goes badly, etc.). If you change your choices, none of these elements actually change, you just become either a good or bad person according to modern sensibilities rather than those of a Slavic Medieval world.
I guess I just hoped for more from the game. On the plus the art style is enjoyable.
