The YI Life App is the home for all your YI Life Cameras, and it is intuitive and easy-to-use. The YI Life camera can be easy to added with the simple onscreen instructions in the App, so that users will know 24/7 live view of their home, from anywhere.

Once the unusual activity is detected, the user will receive the alert notifications from the App. The 6-second clips triggered by motion or sound will on the alert page when check out alert videos. The YI Life is multifunctional, including set motion tracking, camera settings, alert frequency, access your YI Cloud, etc.

Yi Home

Cloud Subscription through Apple Store does not show up in the App and hence Cloud services do not get activated. Absolutely zero response to multiple email attempts. Probably they have no one who can read/ respond in English. App and camera work great though. In case they don’t, you will get zero response from customer service, so it’s a gamble!

Live feed seeking removed in new version of App

Live feed seeking to previous time span is stopped in new version of app which was working earlier as free now it is added in paid version. This is complete useless to use the camera maybe I need to buy another brand.

Good mosaic view of cameras

Good improvement with mosaic view of 4 videos at a time. There is an issue with the alerts: the app doesn’t ask for alerts authorisation and doesn’t appear in the list in settings > notification. Otherwise, no big changes compared to the YI Home app. Improvement would be *2 *5 *10 accelerated viewing of playback.

Useful app - need 2x 5x 10x video playback

The app is useful to monitor. I have two suggestions for improvement. 1. Major functionality missing is video playback at faster speed. For e.g. playing the recorded footage at 5x speed will allow to scan the footage quickly. This is a common use case for anyone who wants to quickly see what happened during the day on the scene. 2. Highlight activity on the scene on video timeline. The slider should highlight when there was activity. 3. Notifications for activity work sporadically. They need to work consistently for driving the maximum value of this surveillance system.

Notifications not working

Very good app with new features but Notifications alert not available and not working. Difficult to check the alerts
