NextGen 2.10.0 combines all the best features of both of Zero Motorcycles’ previous app offerings to date, with compatibility with the entire Zero Motorcycles range from 2013 forward.
App Features
Zero’s NextGen App works with the bike’s dash and Cypher II or Cypher III operating system to create a feature-rich ecosystem. Common features for these models include:
* Select and create ride modes
* Personalized dash options
* Scheduled and target-based charging
* Charging station location assistance
* Extensive notifications, including state-of-charge (SOC), time-to-charge and last-ride statistics.
* Ride data: location, speed, lean angle, power, torque, SoC, energy used/re-generated
* Remote diagnostics and Cypher III updates
* Provides ownership data when connected to Cypher III motorcycles
* Model restrictions apply. Not all features will be available for FX, FXS, FXE, S, DS, DSR. Not all features will be available for SR prior to MY22.
The Connected Bike
MY20-MY21 SR/F and SR/S, and MY22-MY23 SR, SR/F and SR/S are connected through cellular networks, transmitting info to the App at all times. Ride information, current bike status and location are always available. This connectivity gives you the ability to monitor the bike in four (4) main areas: Bike Status & Alerts, Charging, Ride Data Sharing, and System Upgrades & Updates.

Logged out without notification
The Remote Connect option just disappeared. Finally discovered that the app had logged out without any reason or notification. Then had to reset as it wouldn’t accept my password. Login is painful as it doesn’t check iCloud for an associated username. Then one of the password fields allows more characters to be entered than the other. Finally sorted it and the login timed out so had to log in again. Tedious sadly.
Useless
Continually fails with firmware updates to the bike (20-21). Cannot remotely connect to the bike. All round bug ridden useless load of rubbish.
Painful at times
For an app of this age you would think it would work like a dream. Unfortunately not…. When will the bugs be fixed. Schedule charge doesn’t work if you have 12 hour clock format on your phone, the user manual is not selectable, when connected by the cell connection we don’t get state of charge. Please team, let’s get this sorted before one of the heritage motorbikes manufacturers come along and does it right!! I will update by a star for each bug that’s fixed
Shame
Nice looking, if it worked it would be fantastic, sadly it’s extremely buggy and barely functions, coupled with the buggy firmware on the bike it’s virtually useless. They keep releasing updates with “bug fixes” but none of the bugs get fixed.
Zero problem easy use app
Just bought an SR/S & this app complements it beautifully. Love the charge target & notifications. Also custom ride modes lets me fine tune economy for touring.
