ZRX: Zombies Run FAQ
Is ZRX: Zombies Run free?
Yes, ZRX: Zombies Run is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is ZRX: Zombies Run legit?
🤔 The ZRX: Zombies Run app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I have used this app since the beginning phases and I have been singing praises. Walking has never been more exciting, I have recommended this app to friends and family, purchased the board game and completed a few races. Still using to this day.
App won’t even run
I just downloaded this app to get back into moving my body, and I thought it would have been a fun way to do so. Unfortunately, I can’t even get past the introductory video in the beginning and I keep trying to press the button to continue, or I try and leave the app as well as turning off my phone. My phone is also up to date with the latest IOS so there should be no issues with that. The app just won’t load and this is a bummer.
Incredible game
The story is impressive and the voice actors are all incredibly talented. Everything is great but I wish there was a way to track calories burned by incorporating the health app. Unfortunately the calories burned doesn’t update on my Zombies, Run! app although if it did it would be a nice incentive to continue using the app. Anyways, it’s great! Oh, and also I was wondering if you were going to add a watch app for Apple in future updates?
Just plain broken
Previously the app would refuse to play music after the first audio clip, but I could quit and resume and it would usually play music after the second clip. This time, in Season 11, episode 2, it took quitting after every audio clip, and only started playing music after the fifth audio clip. That’s crazy and makes the app completely useless for using for anything other than an exercise bike.
I’m glad I am a legacy user and only pay $7.99 per year. Definitely not worth paying for in its current state.
Abel Runner For Life
I started using Zombies Run 10+ years ago, near when they first launched. I don’t love running, but I loved the stories that came to life in my headset, and felt it made all my workouts so much more fun. I also really appreciate all the thought that has gone into the features in the app, from being able to listen to my own music from whatever player I decide, to being able to use ZRX regardless of whether I’m running outside, on a treadmill, or even just rowing, weightlifting, or jumping rope. The quality of the narration is fantastic. And the virtual races are always so different and creative. I stuck with them as they went from a single-purchase app to an annual subscription, and I have zero regrets. And they have stuck with their users, through the pandemic and beyond.
Making workouts fun and consistent is an investment in myself - I’m a 40-year old woman and I’m still the same petite weight build I was in my late twenties. Plus - I’m so invested in these characters. Wishing all the good luck and success to the ZRX crew.
My favorite app!
I absolutely hate running. Always have. But this app had me intrigued, and I was committed to running a 5k, so i thought I would get this to help me stay motivated. That was over 2 years ago, and I’m still in love with this app and the stories in it.
My only criticism is that I wish that they would bring back the Apple Watch feature/connectivity.
Overall, a great app for runners, even those that only run to listen to the stories!
Please add family subscriptions!
I want to use this app to run with my kids but paying three times as much just to add them to my plan is not worth it to me!! I wish it were like netflix where family members in the home can be added to a certain extent and the subscription shared!
Used since 2015. Still a great app
I was reviewing my old runs since 2015 and it made me really appreciate this app. It’s great seeing my progression. I haven’t been consistent with running… but this app makes it easier to get back into it because I want to know where the story goes. I like the story building through the audio and gamified running elements. Im huge into gaming so building the base is long but rewarding.
They have made it subscription based over the years which isn’t the best but I get it. They are still updating features and adding stories even now. I wanted to thank the developers for making such a fun app and keeping the support going. Thank you so much! You all rock!
Highly Recommend
Been using the app since 2021. Not every day, but I’ve been doing just the zombie run. Pretty fun little app to give you a story and sometimes push you when you’re really not wanting to. Haven’t yet upgraded to the full version, but from what I got out of the z run makes it a little more enjoyable. Get it and run!
Lol
