A fun app that makes running more interesting. Some woeful voice acting does shatter the illusion a bit. I also found escaping zombies to be entirely random (despite the name of the app, that’s not as big an issue as you might imagine). I’d say worthwhile if you want to spice up your runs.
Even when I don’t feel much like exercising Zombies, Run! gets me up and out the door so I can find out what happens next!
I’ve been using this for a couple of years now and love it. HOWEVER it is very much a story app first and a running app second. Distance accuracy with GPS isn’t great and the indoor (non-GPS) options require unintuitive configuration. Emailed customer support with some feature tweak requests and received a defensive email back rather than any thanks for my ongoing interest. Better Apple Health integration would also be welcome. Buy this app and use it alongside a dedicated running app and you’re onto a winning combination.

I like to run with this app
Have to be quite disappointed App was working fine and i really liked it just until the end of mission four The app stopped working, audio wont play and timer stopped. I was only halfway through my run and the rest of the mileage wasnt counted. Back on running logs 2 miles and 40 mins less of my running time was counted. I collected less supplies than i was supposed to and it messed up my running log. Quite disappointed really. Hope it could be fixed and wont happen again.
This is a great running app- my only slight complaint is that I wish I could change kilometer to mile instead. (I know I’m such an American) but other then that this running app makes runs so much fun. Thank you
My ONLY complaint! Could get more accurate data for running if pulled from the watch. I usually start an outdoor workout on my watch at the same time as this app, then edit the Zombies run with stats from my watch to be accurate. Love this app. If you hate running, but love training for the apocalypse, this is for you!
I might seem melodramatic but this app kind of changed my life. I was super heavy and running wasn’t something I did ever, so I wasn’t sure I should even download this app. Turns out you can customize your speed/mission time, which was perfect for me. I worked up from walking to light jogging, and the storyline keeps me motivated to come back every day to do more. I even find myself thinking about it while doing other things, excited for the next bits. Anyway, even if you’re not super fit, or even a runner, you should download this app to at least be more active, it’s amazing.
