Een fantastische programma voor Australië. Het is zijn geld dan ook dubbel en dwars waard. Groet Roel Donker.

Most expensive and most useless app I’ve ever bought. Such a shame that we invested in this app and it just doesn’t work properly. You can’t even find and select an adress. Don’t buy. Use Googlemaps by downlaoding the map of the area you need.
We travelled the east coast of Australia and bought Hema Maps to replace Mudmaps which we have used for years. We were disappointed that the maps are from 2018, and many of the maps are out of date. There have been major changes to the Pacific highway in the last 6 years, and we found ourselves at times 20km off the displayed route. Especially around McLean and Grafton vicinity where the Pacific highway has been rerouted. You would think for a $100 purchase you would be provided with up to date maps. The App is also glitchy when zooming and changing from one map to another.
it’s one of the best and easiest too news it does everything I wanted to do been using it for 20 years now
I have been using the Hema maps for a few years when ever I head out. Easy to use I have purchased the 1:25,000 as well ( it helps as well ) Its handy to use the tracking ( bread crumbs section ) so as you can see where you have been
If you want to simply run offline maps and log your vehicle track via GPS, this app is pretty straightforward. If you want to get more advanced and upload route plans to follow it gets a little trickier, but it can be done. I’m a GIS guy, so I plan and digitise routes and features in QGIS, then upload KML files to the app before I go remote. I replicate the data on my iPad and iPhone for redundancy, plus keep paper copies and backup maps in the vehicle. Uploading KML to the app has just become difficult with recent iOS updates. I can no longer simply “share” a KML file to the app. I hope the Developer can resolve that, because if I can’t upload my KML files I might have to look elsewhere.
Kinda a werid app. In some ways it’s a very primitive map system and clunky to use. The thing is when your in the outback and you have no signal and your lost you can normally get onto Hema maps which connects you to a satellite and bingo a map pops up with your location and you can find where you are. Even if your not on a road you can see where you are in relation to the road and move towards it. I only use it when the going gets tough and I am lost. Hema wi.l save you most likely
Wouldent downtown this if it was free
I use Gaia GPS for making routes but constantly refer to the Hema app to get a good overview of route options and terrain. A handy feature is the level of detail doesn’t constantly change as you zoom in or out - what you have is essentially a digital version of the Hema paper maps. It’s also very easy to load gpx files from other apps into Hema. You can also easily log your current route and save it when finished. Over the years it’s become my go-to app when I need to know where I am (😳) and options to get back on track. The specialised maps for key 4wd destinations are exceptional in their detail and accuracy. Overall, it’s a very practical and useful app for outback/remote travel.
Poor quality, outdated low resolution maps that come in standard of the areas surrounding Sydney. Victorian High Country maps are mostly up to date, but few times I had to backtrack for few kms because they were wrong. Good for crossing the interior offline.
