Love this app!
When I first got this app, I thought it would be great and stuff but when I made just my first drawing…Already having some bad signs. I have questions, where is the eraser? Where is the undo and redo button? Where is this? Where is that? Yada yada. Okay, I like the app but it’s materials are just N O. I really hope you would add some more stuff and not make this too hard to even do a simple sketch, and yes. Just my opinion on this app
This does it all. And the ecosystem within is quite amazing. The ability to use the file across their 3 apps is quite impressive. Also with no subscription, you can’t pass this up. As someone who uses their iPad and Mac interchangeably, this is the best!
This app is banging. Would love a live trace feature, but for what you get, it’s well worth the buy.
I really want to give this as fair a chance as illustrator but I need light mode to focus when I’m drawing. This goes for all the affinity apps
There’s some minor gripes. Brushes need predictive movement so they feel snappier. Almost every other drawing app uses it. Stabilizer method is extremely out dated as well but I’m glad there’s layout rulers finally. I’m guessing it’s the same for photo version. Probably doesn’t apply much for vector so this is actually pretty good software.
Best value in a vector graphics app. I use it for a lot more than I thought I would. When I need quick removal of a background or technical shapes to make alphas for brushes. Tons of tools and works amazing on the M4 iPad. I own the software on both PC and iOS. Lots of great tutorials and no subscription, what’s not to like?
The way you have to leave the file and go back to the gallery view in order to save is confusing and hard to remember if you haven’t used the app in a while, potentially leading to losing your work. Reliable saving is critical and probably should be auto save. The mental model of live docs feels strange compared to most iPad apps, it’s hard to know they are actually just temporary tabs of open docs and not the files themselves. A real quick improvement would be to add indication that a file has unsaved changes until you can figure out a better saving paradigm. If this gets fixed, this would be 5 stars, but currently it’s very unreliable as I frequently leave the app and potentially the app will close and lose work because I didn’t manually save it.
Affinity for iPad has been the best app I’ve ever used for making printables for my shop. I’ve used it for the past 5 years and I love how I can switch between pixel and vector drawing. I self taught myself to use the program after looking at a few videos and have grown accustomed to using this over any other application. I highly recommend using this app over any others if you need vector and pixel drawing in your projects.
