Automower Connect

Mower doesn’t show on app and will not connect with Bluetooth.

I’ve used husqvarna automower since 2018 and have enjoyed not having the loud noise. I’ve also enjoyed the freedom to spend more time with my family.

Don’t buy one. Wait a year and they will give you one for 75% less. Hope you enjoy spending time every day to make it work

Overall works good as long as your mower doesn’t lose connection. Would be great if Automower could also be set to Wi-Fi as most home Wi-Fi cover the area around the house that gets mowed. Also, scheduling needs some rework for ease of use and real use cases. The main use case that cannot be done is setting number of days between mowing. Every other or every third day cannot be scheduled when you can only do a special day of week time based schedule. One would want both to be possible. Also, it would be nice to set temporary scheduling for things like weather tomorrow so don’t mow. Machine maintenance: would be great to have a basic timer that tracks number of hours mowed since last service for things like cleaning and blade changes.

It’s functional but it’s not the easiest application to use. It is disorganized and hard to navigate. Additionally, tools like setting a schedule no longer work so the mower must be started and stopt manually. It feels like ‘abandonware’.

The Husqvarna app team needs to address communication break downs between the app and the Automower. Unfortunately, normal behavior anymore includes the app showing incorrect statuses (perhaps the mower is mowing but the app says it’s parked). Along the same lines, the mower will routinely not respect commands given via app. Perhaps the mower is mowing and you command it to go home, it will just keep mowing. Adjusting the schedule in the app while the mower is running will not be successful if you’re adjusting the schedule such that the current time of day is outside of its new schedule time. Instead, the schedule should update, and the mower should return home. Of course, you’re not met with an error message but instead a “schedule updated” message. Only to return to the schedule page and have it show you the old schedule that you just attempted to change. Again, in the same note, the SMS alerting feature refuses to work on the Automower so statuses and alerts are not received. The geolocation area coverage feature never worked for my mower from the get go. I waited months for “my map to populate” but it never did. I had to set up areas manually to get the results I wanted. Is there a minimum yard size required for this to work? Who knows, as this information is not communicated anywhere. Regarding the app’s design: The cloud icon in the top right of the screen seems to be for decoration? It never changes, is not a button, and no explanation is given as to its meaning. The mower and the app have different menus and feature sets. Want to trigger a manual mow / schedule override? From the mower the shortest time period available is 24 hours. From the app though, a 3 hour override can be selected. The geofence border is laughably large. What is the use if I’m only alerted to a theft when the mower is miles away? While settings are available to increase and decrease this diameter size, the sizes are arbitrary and don’t communicate well just how big they are.
