Being a teacher and seeing how our next generation of kids are addicted to their phone and games, it is of utmost importance for developers to recognize the addictive nature of devices. When we first purchased this app for our son, it truly was great. However, about a year later, he discovered he could play the games directly from the world board and now, no longer bothers reading the books. Not only that but the “rewards” in the app have also created an obsession with him (ex. Use the app for 7 consecutive days). He is now nagging us to use it constantly and has tantrums if we refuse. This is such an unacceptable oversight by the developers it boggles the mind. It is so important to give parents control of what kids can access on their phones. The LAST thing we want from an educational app is unrestricted access to more addictive games. On the verge of deleting the app despite buying the lifetime membership. I’ve reached out twice to them pointing out the need for parental controls and have simply been told that my message has been forwarded. Get your **** together and address this.
I tried this as part of Covid home schooling supplementary learning for my toddlers/grade 1 children. It offered a 7 day trial so I figured I can see how my kids engage with it and whether it offered additional benefits to what we were already using. It did not work out for them so after a few days, I didn’t pay attention to it. After 7 days, a charge appears for a full year of service. No secondary email/logon prompt to signup (ie trial period as ended it so please pay up). Just straight to my credit card. After countless emails, through a Bot customer service system, they referred me to Apple as it was charged through their store…that’s a lie. They charge direct through credit card so nothing to do with Apple. Again through the bot email chain i went and finally after 30 days of getting no where, I have contacted my credit card company to see if they have better luck. Terrible after product support. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you sign up. Hope you enjoyed my $60…
Excellent app. Beautiful illustrations and the effects.
Love it 😍
Can’t do anything unless you pay . Deleted.
I just got it and I’m waiting for it to download the app I need to pay for anything I’m going to delete it right away
Software seem great but for the price subscription I was expected more language than just English. Hope they add French soon, until than I wait that my kid understand English a little more.
We buy lots of apps for our kids but for $80 a year the development team needs to fix the bugs. Reading voice just cuts out between pages and then freezes the app, sometimes pages don’t even appear, this happens on the Elmo book. Also, after finishing a book, selecting another book keeps you at the loading screen forever, makes you have to restart the app constantly. Kid is already getting frustrated - don’t waste your money until the bugs are fixed.
When going through the book reading tutorial, it asks you to tilt the device to position the book. It’s not working!
