Cara: Art & Social

Many issues to fix until the app is usable Homepage not loading occasionally, I cannot add a profile picture, I cannot find people to follow, also I can follow myself which should be invalid. I really hope you don’t let this app go and release fixes soon because this platform is GOLD for artists compared to other social media platforms. Love the combination of a portfolio and a timeline feed. Using on iPhone 14.

Cara is a wonderful new social media platform for artists. The whole idea of having a portfolio page along with a social aspect is great and I can't wait to see where this app goes from here. The only reason for my low rating is the performance of the app on an iphone 15PM. The app barely runs at 20 fps and the animations are laggy and clunky. I really hope it gets better with updates because as of now the iOS app is pretty much unusable.

Thankful for the development team’s hard work and the commitment to artists, just wish it had a iPad-friendly version as the works would look amazing on the new OLED iPads and iPad Pros!

Feel so much more comfortable uploading art on here than instagram but would LOVE it if there is a “not interested in this” or “hide this” or “don’t recommend this” button for posts that randomly show up on my timeline instead of forcing me to go onto some poor random artist’s profile and mute them :(

It’s so far and so good the I actually join in and it’s almost like a half Twitter and Instagram together. It’s seems great 😊 except the log out app part need to be fixed ? But everything is good.

So far as an artist I’ve enjoyed this platform, the only critiques i have i know are likely to be fixed soon anyways. Im excited to see where this goes!

At a time when generative AI content is drowning out human creators on every platform, is nice to have an platform dedicated to human artists. In its present state, genAI images would not exist if not trained on the theft of intellectual property from human artists and photographers. Cara does not allow artificial imagery on its platform and provides tools to help human artists protect their work. Amazing! While the site has had some growing pains due to the mass influx of artists, it’s being very actively developed and updated. Many of us are tired of platforms that manipulate algorithms and train generative AI on our work without consent. Cara has been a breath of fresh air for the art community and it will only continue to improve. I’m happy to have found a home here.

The app is somewhat unintuitive, but that shouldn’t stop people from using it. I think it’s a great place to find inspiration & connect with other artists.

It’s like 1/3 of my screen size :( very hard to type and see

I know it’s in its beta phase, but I truly would like to have some sort of “story” or way to post something that others can publicly see, that won’t stay on my page just like instagrams. I’m absolutely in love with everything so far but i feel like it helps with promoting what you have going on to others 💕👍 other than this I’m exceptionally astounded with the app and will be using it to keep all my art! I’m no longer scared of ai using my art without my permission 😁😁😁
