This app works really well for having games on the go. It is simple and easy to use. You have options for how long for each move and whether to allow analyser, move takeback and chat functions. Games can take weeks or months but there is another app for speed games. One feature that could be improved is requesting a break if you know you’re not going to be able to make your moves in time - eg, if you’re your going somewhere with poor signal. Currently you have to ask the other player in the chat to extend your response time for the next move, but sometimes they can’t work out how to do it and you get timed out. It is then up to them to restart the game. It would be helpful to have a function where you can request say a week extension for them to agree or refuse.
Have been playing for many years on various accounts and it’s a decent app sadly the gag on free speech recently installed is a poor move , who’s idea was that ??
I’ve played chess on and off all my ninety four years and found Chess to be easy to negotiate. One small quibble is that I find it difficult to resign which happens more frequently these days. However that is a small point. I hope you continue to provide what is a very enjoyable service.
Makes you feel you are the grandmaster playing simultaneous games,I play simultaneously max 33 games at 1 time
My son and I are really enjoying playing this game. It’s a pretty solid implementation of chess with one exception… we’ve had two check mate games, now, but the app classed them both as “draw” games. A pop up appears declaring a draw, and the game ends. A pretty annoying bug.
I have been using this a while as a beginner and enjoy the games I have played on it. Other apps have a slicker interface but they cost you. For a freebie this is the best there is and there is a broad range of abilities to play against. More expert players have moaned at starting at a low rating but I suspect most players who use the app are recreational players who just enjoy the game as a passtime and are of intermediate ability. For that it is great.
It’s nice and simple and I can play with my friends and family. It was particularly great over lockdown when I couldn’t see them. We still use it a lot now. You can also play against other users from around the world and use the chat function if you like, and you can request rematches and add them as friends to play again. It’s also fun to try and get higher scores and increase your rank. There are different options for the games, such as time limits between moves (1 day, 2 days, 3 days, etc), so you can play as if it were in real time or you can leave several hours/days between moves (it’ll remind you when you your time has almost run out). There are no ads, no glitches and you can have several games going at once. Overall, it’s a great, easy app to use and I now play chess more often than before. I really enjoy it. 👍♟
Great fun being able to play opponents of similar scores; friends or random selected people. Highly recommended
