I ha been a user of CLZ apps for Books and Movies for many years. I restarted my music collection and want to catalogue my growing collection. The best App I could find was Collectorz CLZ app. I combine it with a lap top app for data entry, cover downloads, editing and other functions. A web based version is also available. All the databases seamlessly sync as soon as they are internet connected. I use the CLZ app on my phone when purchasing music. I wouldn’t be without it
It’s really good to find something that actually surpasses what you expect it to do. I’ve used CLZ music now for a couple of years and have managed to get all my CDs and vinyl logged. There are a miriad of ways to use it, using different filters, looking at your collections in different ways. I use it not just to catalogue my music, but also to help me listen to it, picking up on stuff that’s easy to forget you’ve got! I even use it to log which LP/singles I’ve recently cleaned! Additionally, I have just started using the movie app and now have all my DVDs logged, and while not as much as my music, still very helpful. Great applications, well made and regularly updated.
I have been an audiophile for many years. With a large collection of Cd,s and a growing vinyl collection I was really struggling to keep track where they were filed. I was using spread sheets but there was just not enough information and it as also a tedious task. Then I found this app CLZ which is a music database. One of the beauties of this app is the simplicity in entering a new album purchased. 99% of my entries are via the barcode reader. Not only does it add the album but also shows all of the tracks, shows the cover pic, allows me to enter my personal file number and I can rate the album. It also gives a search facility by artist or song or genre. There is also my personal stats as well. I can not rate this app highly enough I absolutely recommend.
I purchased an old school pub 400 CD player jukebox which is connected to my Sonos sound system. It’s always fun at parties because people can choose what they want to play via the app and I can store the slot numbers on the player as part of the disk record and use the remote to navigate to this cd. Online music repositories are all well and good but you don’t own the music. This app makes my tangible music CD collection accessible.
Well worth the subscription fee. Started collecting vinyl and this app is an excellent way to keep track of what I have. Had bought doubles a couple times. Highly recommend this app to anyone.
Trying to put my music collection in some kind of semblance of order and found this.Absolutely spot on ! And not being a technophile I probably ask stupid questions to the help line from which I get quick and helpful answers both from the CLZ team and other app users. Can’t praise this site enough.
I hesitated for a long time before trying this, or any app, to log all of my music, as I have close to 6,000 CDs and around 1,000 vinyl albums, mostly classical, jazz and “world”music. And it’s classical music that produces a particular issue, which is how do you want to file/look up a CD with multiple artists, playing multiple composers? The CLZ app makes this all entirely possible by the use of tags and editable look up labels for artist, composer, label, amd many many more. So I can now look up Jean Efflam Bavouzet and Manchester Camerata playing Mozart’s Piano Concertos at Stoller Hall, on the Chandos label, which is a recommended recording by Gramophone Magazine in any way I choose, and know it’s filed under Mozart Piano Concertos. They are also very very responsive to questions and feedback, and development ideas. Highly recommended!
Love this. Building a nice collection which is easy to view as is the wish list. Supper great too. Andy.
I still love buying CDs and records and some would say it’s an obsession! I have a collection of over 3,000 titles and this app allows me the satisfaction vital to all collectors as it enables me to pour lovingly over everything I’ve ever bought. It’s brilliant when I’m trawling through piles of second hand albums and can’t remember what I’ve got. The customer support is absolutely superb and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
