Perfect to log and keep track of everything!
Could not add a desktop to devices. I have been using CodeBook for years and really like it until now. I have just recently just come into problems when adding a desktop into the mix. I have always synchronized with other mobile, tablets and laptops. Today, I tried to add a desktop. No go. It is extremely hard to do because there is no camera and QR code ability on the desktop. CodeBook instructions are simple looking but in reality are difficult to know what to do, when you start, and where to go. In the end, you need to “backup” the key and select words. This is not intuitive because you assume you need to start in add device area of the application. I tried following the online instructions. I repeatedly kept running into unauthorized mismatched keys and had to keep trying over and over. It never worked. Now looking for an something easier to setup across desktop and portable devices.
I work in technology for big firms handling lots of cloud applications, and between my job and my personal life this means that I have hundreds of separate passwords to keep track of along with their temporary two-factor time-based authentication codes. Codebook does it all securely and safely while allowing me to synchronize password data across multiple devices such as my phone and my computer without the use of a third-party cloud provider such as Google. This means that my data is safe & secure and never leaves my control nor is it used to try to sell me stuff. I have been using this application for almost a decade, and I have found the developer to be both responsive and a thoughtful fellow who responds to to user requests while only adding features in a way that makes sense and keeps the app lightweight, fast, and responsive. I have gifted paid copies of this app to my loved ones, and I highly recommend this app!!
I’ve had this app for years for my personal use. Even when work has required other password storage systems, and given free trials, I’ve always found myself coming back to this one. It’s easy, looks good and secure. What more do you need?
User for many years since it was named Strip; still one of my most used apps and excellent almost instant support, which I’ve only needed a few times over the years because it is east to use. Also can store notes and photos, like SS card or others that you don’t want on the cloud.
I’ve been using this app for over 10 years, since it was called STRIP. I’m consistently impressed with its ease of use. I can unlock the app using Face ID and it integrates well with Safari to enter my username and password.
My wife and I have been using Codebook for quite some time. We have it across our phones, PC and Ipads. Make changes to one and the sync feature updates the rest. Lots of great options to manage more than passwords.. Had some Google Drive issues that affected the sync on one phone. Customer support was exceptional compared to most other services i'm used to. Would highly recommend this app if you want more than a password vault that is easy to use and reliaable.
I have been a user of Codebook on my Apple devices and have nothing but great things to say about it. Easy to use and syncs through Dropbox to all my devices. I had a sync glitch and the customer support I got to get this issue fixed was about the best I have gotten since the old days of the Apple Geniuses. I cant say enough great things about the app and the company
I’ve been using Codebook for a couple of years. I wanted a password manager that wouldn’t be subscription based, would reside on my computer instead of the cloud and that also offered flexibility when adding data to my entries. I also wanted an app that would sync between my devices. Codebook delivers on all of my needs. The initial setup to sync between devices was a bit complicated, but once complete it works. The syncs only occur upon user initiation which can sometimes be a pain, but it also provides a backup in case you accidentally erase information in one device. The app also offers a password generator with different options for the type of password needed such was website rules or alphanumeric. The generator also checks whether the chosen password has been compromised before. The iOS based version works well with other apps when copying and pasting in usernames and passwords. I can copy the info from Codebook and paste it on an entry field in another app. It also provides a message saying that the info pasted originated from Codebook as confirmation of the action. Finally, I’ve also worked with their customer support and found it personable and very willing to help. Overall, I recommend Codebook to anyone seeking a password manager.
I’ve been using this password manager since it was called STRIP - Secure Tool to Remember Important Passwords on the Palm Pilot. It’s my favorite by far and has never failed me. It may not have the most features but I’ve never suffered a breach and it works on all my devices. I heartily recommend it!
