Codebook Password Manager

I’ve been using Codebook since before it was called Codebook. It’s the only app imo which has sufficiently robust security for me to trust my passwords to it - and crucially, if you want to avoid sync via the Internet, you can do so and back up locally to a desktop computer. It’s well implemented and the developers have kept things simple - a vital thing that is often lost in the inevitable upgrades. Well done team Zetetic, you win the long-term prize!

Thought when I bought this the reviews looked good - I love the fact that the support and upgrades are frequent and I have paid a one off fee as agreed - brilliant password manager really is vital for being organised and is very customisable which is a nice option albeit I am quite boring and just like the reliability

The developers are very professional and the product is excellent This is one of the few apps I am delighted to pay for and on multiple platforms. Just do it you won’t regret ir.

Yeah I’ll just tell yum Best app ever used for safely storing my passwords. Been using it now for over two years and my data is automatically synced to Dropbox. Safe and secure. I would highly recommend this app to store unique passwords. Very user friendly and work across various portable devices aswell as my desktop.

Do not waste time with this app, been using this for so many years but since they introduced this sync key feature in last update (no idea why as been working fine for many years! Or is it to try and steal user data ) lost all my data and won’t sync with Dropbox and my other devices! Really poor!

I’ve used this for years and it is very reliable. The go-to alternative if you don’t want to use iCloud Keychain etc. Very secure and always up to date.

I’ve used this password manager since v2 (now on version 4) on iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. It was great then and it’s even better now - it works seamlessly with iOS; offers and fills passwords using Touch ID and offers to store website login page URLs in your Codebook entry where you don’t already have it. I store hundreds of highly complex passwords, personal and business, that I couldn’t possibly remember, but with this I don’t need to, and I can store additional details such as memorable info and PINs that I couldn’t do with keychain. I just had a synch problem for the first time tonight ever and it’s sorted within a short time, thank you Micah for an almost immediate response and follow up! Worth it’s money and more, keep up the good work guys!

I like the app. The icons are fun, it looks good and so far in my experience it has worked with reliability. My but is simply this, having had the experience of losing vast amounts of data because of theft, I know that I need to have this data backed up where I can easily access it. Yes this app allows me to sync online, but if my phone is stolen how would I access that? I want the back up on my lap top- and the software to let me do that is comparatively expensive. I don't like finding that out after I've made my choice. My other problem with this app is that I cannot find a way to import the data from a previous password encryption package. So Ok but I have reservations. Update: There is some kind of security set up that is beyond me and although I do have back ups I have lost some very important new data.

Have used STRIP and now Codebook for a number of years and have been fully satisfied with the product. The support is particularly good. In the first place it is proactive, issuing an advisory warning users to ensure that they synced their data before upgrading to iOS 13, not because problems were expected, but just in case. Also as a UK user I was pleasantly surprised to get an almost immediate response when I contacted Zetetic support on a Friday afternoon. In the event, I needed to provide further information before the issue could be fully resolved, which it was to my entire satisfaction. Thank you, Zetetic. peter d uk
