OUR NEWEST PACK – CLASSIC VOLUME #2!
Classic sudoku is where it all began, and there is still lots of skill to be deployed to solve classic puzzles, and new techniques to be explored.
Nikoli, the Japanese puzzle house, named and popularised sudoku from 1984, and we have commissioned 20 puzzles from them for this Classic Sudoku 2 app. We have also created 20 ourselves, and sourced 20 more from Sam Cappleman-Lynes, the brilliant British sudoku expert. The result is a wonderful 60-puzzle pack which will delight and challenge you.

Puzzles are good, hints are almost always wrong or vague
In so many puzzles, there will be a hint such as “r2c8 can only be 9”, and if you go to input 9 into r2c8, it’s just flat out wrong. Probably around 40% of the puzzles, I would say, contain uninterpretable typos, including mislabeling cell positions (saying r5c6 when they mean r6c5, or saying r5c6 when they mean r4c6). Additionally, even many of the clues that aren’t just fully wrong are still vague and unhelpful, assuming leaps of logic, causing me to get to the point where I just have to abandon many of the puzzles because there’s nowhere left for me to make progress. And then I don’t have enough stars to unlock new puzzles, so I often just have to manually put in random numbers until I fill out the grid of one puzzle so I can finish it and unlock new ones.
Hints Are Pathetic
Just a horrible experience from top to bottom. Would not recommend.
Less than “free” app.
It’s made intentionally difficult to play without paying for level packs. There are some free packs at the very bottom of the list.
love variant sudoku
excellent app, I love the creativity of the puzzles! I wish there were more knight sudoku in this one.
I want more!!
I loved every second of it! I finished all the packs and can’t get enough of it! Add more packs please🪃🛝
The only good app on my phone
First and foremost the puzzles are really excellent. But there’s a major problem with this app. Once you get used to it, the UI for every other sudoku website/app will make you cry in comparison.
Best layout!
This is the best layout for sudoku controls out there! My only change I would make is the option to remove the timer in the “settings”. Sometimes it’s nice to just relax and not care about time. Watching the clock tic is distracting and can add stress to an otherwise relaxing and delightful pass time.
The hints can be quite bad
The puzzles are all fantastic, but if you get stuck and need a hint, you might be out of luck. A lot of them reference the incorrect cells, others are confusingly written, and many don’t really help you to understand the “why”. It would be fine if the app was free, but we are paying for this and it feels like very little thought went into the hints.
Free to download. Not free to play.
Game sells level packs. Pass
It’s Fantastic and some quick fixes
This is an awesome Sudoku App. If you enjoy the variety Sudoku on YouTube channels like Cracking The Cryptic you will love this app. I’m not a Sudoku wizard but I’ve slowly gotten better with the puzzles here. GAS 1 and 2 and the Approachable pack are indeed approachable and a great place to start. I find variety sudoku so much more fun than standard sudoku. There is a ton of value here for a tiny investment- well worth it!
Here are a few things I would improve:
(1) Add the calculator more places. It would be really useful for example on X-Sum sudokus but it’s not there.
(2) If the sudoku is a Serial Killer don’t include the Killer rules, that’s just confusing.
(3) Refine, improve, maybe combine the menu system? Could we just access all the packs we own in one place?
Also if there is a tutorial for best practices on how to use notation please direct me there.
Thanks for everything! It’s a great app!!
