Crochet Studio

This app has potential and I wound purchase the subscription if it were maintained and updated. The yarn database is not updated and is lacking a variety of choices for yarns found in USA

I select my palette, select random and then select generate granny square blanket and I get a blank blanket!

This app helps me to visualize the many half-formed ideas swimming around in my mind. I love the way you can combine palettes to see if the colors actually work together and then generate basic patterns. I have no idea if/when the yarn options are updated, but I’ve had a lot of fun with this app.

This app literally saved my life when I was crocheting my biggest project (a blanket)

Still no response from Crochet Studio customer about my being charged for another year after I cancelled my subscription! I contacted them June 2024 and as of today (Oct 5, 2024) no response from them at all. Still no response from Crochet Studio about my refund! No customer service at all! If I could give them zero stars I would! I cancelled my yearly subscription for Crochet studio but am being charged for another year. I cancelled again and instead of refunding my money I am stuck with another year. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!

But where are Caron Simply Soft, or Premier Everyday, or even LionBrand wool-Ease NOT chunky? I had hoped that purchasing a subscription would add more brands to the filter, but this does not seem to be the case. Disappointed.

Frustrated that the yarn brands are limited to those provided in the app. Couldn’t find a way to upload my own yarn stash.

So far, this is what I’m looking for in a crochet app. However, it doesn’t seem like they have a lot of the cheaper off brand yarn options (at least for where I shop like Michael’s and Joann’s). With that, yarn price (or approximate) would be a nice feature to see how much your project will end up costing with your selected materials. Also, for the granny square options, I wish there was something like a pattern feature. I hate the radial, but want it to be more orderly than random. As for the colors, it would be nice to be able to change the colors halfway through working on a project in a palette without losing your entire pattern by backing out. Also a timer might be a nice feature? Like you start a timer when you start a row or granny square to approximate how long it will take you to finish your project. Lastly, instead of dragging the colors each time to change the pattern, I think color selection then tapping each color would be better. Dragging 100 times is annoying. We can use two fingers to scroll and it shouldn’t be an issue. I’d love to brainstorm ideas if you reach out to continue to improve this! It’s good as is, but I think it could be more efficient.

Haven’t had this app long, paid for the year. So far I am loving this app. I’m making my first blanket. I love how easy the app is to use and the PDF it makes you is fantastic , spot on, lays out the whole pattern for you and it even has instructions . Couple suggestions though I see right off. I would like to make a custom palette of my yarns . So let’s say I am making a scrap blanket with what I have. I would like to say I have 225yds of this color and that color and make a pattern from that. That is being knit picky I know but it would be a great help. I get a lot of odds and in yarns. Even if it was with the yarns already listed and just being able to add an amount , then make a pattern from that would be a great help. But I am loving this app!!!!
