Best & Easiest Meal Planner, syncs with Reminder Shopping List

This is the Best & Easiest Meal Planner I’ve found. Very intuitive to use immediately from download. Syncs ingredients with iOS Reminder Shopping List which makes planning and adding only the ingredients you need so easy. Import recipes from copied website addresses easy also. Highly recommend.

Such an impressive recipe app

I feel like I have used all the apps, for last few years settled on CookBook (which is really good!) but this app is just better for me. I bought it because I love all the little touches, it feels SO much more premium than its competitors, and then I discovered two things I didn’t even know I needed but are amazing: - it imports groceries into the systems groceries reminder list. Which I share with my wife. This means it automatically gets the smart categorisation AND it is one click works into my flow. - website feeds. I didn’t even know my favourite recipe websites had this and then i buy the subscription import a recipe and suggests a feed. And that feed is super useful! Anyway kudos to the developer. Clearly a details and polish person. My only ask is that the Notes section of eg recipetineats.com doesn’t get recognised on import, but other apps do.

In my existing recipes I've saved in Paprika, for some recipes, I've added step by step photos, or added photos to some steps. There's no ability, or I can't add or assign an image to steps or ingredients. Often when a recipe says cut thin, - like how thin, so I like having images or watching a video. I also want an option to add more description or another link, because a lot of recipes have a blog or web page and a video on YouTube.

Love it

This is the recipe book that I have been looking for for ages. If we could have a star rating for our recipes as well that would complete a fantastic app.

Love it, could be better

Can you add traditional Chinese as I would love to share it to my friends. Couldn’t extract the recipe from the YouTube information box. Other than those are great and the app is quite user friendly than the others!

Great App

Big improvement from some of the other recipe apps around.

I have used Paprika for years but am now in the process of transferring everything over to Crouton. It’s similarly attractive and many features are similar (eg importing from websites, scaling, metric/imperial conversion, search, folders, meal plan, grocery list) but Crouton has some great additional features that I find really helpful, especially when it comes to 1) cooking (shows one step at a time; can tap an ingredient to display the quantity) and 2) meal planning (eg. main recipe list shows no of servings and prep/cook time in addition to recipe name and photo; ‘random recipe’ feature). I also LOVE the Discover tab which lets you subscribe to recipe feeds and quickly import any that you like the look of. One other feature that I’d love would be some indicator of how long it’s been since I cooked a particular recipe, to make sure I’m not making the same few things over and over.

Great potential, but grocery list function needs work.

I wanted three things in an app like this. 1. Digitise recipes, 2. Put those recipes into meal plans for the week, 3. Put the ingredients into a grocery list. This app does #1 really well, #2 sufficiently, but drops the ball completely on #3. I happily paid for the full version of this app as the recipe digitisation is excellent, both from cookbooks and online website recipes. I like putting the meals in the meal plan too. The grocery list needs a lot of work. Ideally, I’d love to be able to categorise each ingredient, so that they were organised by each section of the grocery store instead of in the order of the recipes they came from, and for there to be an easier way to combine ingredients (e.g. so I know to buy 3 tomatoes instead of 2 from one recipe and 1 from other). Simple filters or Sort Bys are definitely warranted. This is what I would hope a paid app would let me do. Realistically, there is only one function I REQUIRE from a grocery list, and that is to be able to tick items off. Nope. If you close the app or spend too much time on one of the other pages, it refreshes and then you’ll have no idea what you have left to get. A free To Do list would have this functionality. Maybe it’s a bug? Fix the grocery list and this app is 5/5.

Unable to import recipes from some sites.

The app is great when it can import from a site, but be aware that it is unable to import recipes from some sites.

Can’t import from camera , image or text

Update: Developer responded quickly advising that he might include the ability to import a few recipes in a future update so people can test the app before committing to purchase Personally I don’t purchase apps that require an ongoing monthly or yearly subscription I much prefer a once only payment acknowledging that this usually costs more I thought this sounded like a great app to add all the recipes we have on pieces of paper cut from magazines. Installed the app and tried to add a recipe by using the import option. All that did was show me an advertisement to upgrade to Crouton Discover and not let me test the app by adding a few recipes so it’s of no use to me , will look elsewhere a pity as it seems to have some good reviews
