STEP BY STEP MODE
Crouton offers a unique step by step mode. Focus on one recipe step at time as you cook, you can tap on ingredients within a step to get the quantity (saves you jumping back and forth between the steps and ingredients). With hands free mode you can move between steps without touching your device! Perfect for when you have messy hands.
TIMERS
Start timers with a tap. Crouton detects times within recipes and lets you start timers straight from the steps. A convenient heads up display keeps the times front of mind while you continue to use the app.
GROCERY LISTS
Create shopping lists directly from your recipes, easily copy just the ingredients you need to your list. Integrates with Reminders for convenient access. Your groceries have never been easier!
CLOUD SYNCING
All of your recipes are conveniently synced between all of your devices using iCloud.

Disappointing
The app is great. However, nowhere that I can see, does it indicate that after 5 recipes you have to pay $20 to continue adding recipes. It would be a kindness to indicate this limitation beforehand.
The only Recipe App You’ll Need
After having this app for almost a week, I can say it’s the best app you can get compared to the other popular apps. The design is modern and easy to navigate (improves experience when cooking). It also has hands free mode where you can use your eyes to navigate through the recipe too! Developer has fast customer service responses and the experience is top tier. Definitely worth trying it out.
Amazing app
I have been looking for a way to organize my recipes and plan meals quickly for a while. I gave up on Notion and other manual processes because it was too time-consuming and became a hassle every week trying to figure out what to eat. This app solves everything, has a great UI, AND it’s affordable. I’m doing the free trial right now, but I can definitely see myself making the full purchase soon! I love that there’s a one-time purchase option as well ❤️ Thank you so much for making this app!!

Sync with MacBook?
I bought the premium expecting it to sync my account between my MacBook and my iPhone. I spent an hour collecting my fave recipes, went onto my phone and it’s blank… I don’t want my laptop in the kitchen when I’m cooking with my family. Great app otherwise.
The best dev
This is my second time giving a five star review unprompted. This is just such a perfect ad. Fair pricing, one time purchase, incredibly intuitive and constantly adding new features. I wish all software was this good, reliable, and ethically priced. I genuinely can’t say enough good things and always try to convince my friends to buy it. THANK YOU!
Closest to an Apple Recipe App you can get
Design language is very similar to Apple’s, it’s intuitive, you can scale recipes, easily convert between imperial & metric, easily manage multiple timers in app and import recipes super easily from websites and other sources. The one-time purchase is definitely worth it. There is a subscription service for their AI features but you can easily turn all of that stuff off in settings if you want it hidden away. My only real complaint is how the groceries system works. The lack of integration with Apple’s new groceries feature is annoying for me. I use the new feature all the time as it sorts things automatically and is better integrated in Apple’s ecosystem, but I cannot add to the Apple’s groceries list inside the app. I don’t know if this is something that is possible for Crouton to do, but if it is I would like to see it implemented. If Crouton cannot add groceries to Apple’s groceries list, than I would like to see similar functionality in Crouton.
