DriveSure App Only

Despite the many negative reviews, I have found very little problems using the app, I’ve done 40 miles since using it and got a score of 85 overall. I do think the harsh acceleration and the harsh braking score, is a little exaggerated however. It is also quite sensitive to the fact when you have finished your trip, it thinks you are using your phone a little bit, but you just press stop and it’s usually ok. I’m not quite sure how people are getting ridiculously low scores, I’ve had no problems at all, for a telematics app, this is pretty good.

I have an account which I can access by logging in to the Churchill Insurance webpage, no problem. Annoyingly I cannot login on the DriveSure app.

I get marked down for being on my phone when my phone is locked and in my pocket, marked down for driving too fast when i make sure i’m always under the speed limit, marked down for time of day and roads i drive on which i have to be on to get to work, and no matter how smoothly i drive i’m constantly marked down for not driving smoothly I had no issues with any of these with my last black box so i know my driving is fine, this app is just terrible at recording my drive

This app is absolutely shocking, I drive the speed limit, taken my time and i’m getting scores of 20. absolutely terrible that I have to go through a year of the constant threat of being cancelled. cannot wait to finish this policy

Complete waste of time. I’ve been trying to register for over an hour now and keeps failing. Utter rubbish.

Can’t drive anywhere without being marked down, get red for road risk if I’m driving from my house to the shops or anywhere in my town, which is obviously unavoidable as that’s where I live, also none of the roads in my town are lanes and also haven’t had many crashes at all, get marked red for ‘mobile phone usage’ if my phone rings and I answer even tho my phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth and I use the hands free to answer it, get marked red for smooth driving even if ur braking normally, red for time of day when I’m driving to and from college also unavoidable. All the reviews seem to be saying the same too, says all you need to know about the app. Paying 2.3k a year for the insurance just for the app not to allow me to drive anywhere without being punished.

Theres no room for any variables whilst driving such as stopping for traffic lights or other peoples driving, has ruined my drives multiple times. The smooth driving is extremely unrealistic and i’m annoying every other driver on the road trying to get a good score and multiple times have i driven perfectly and been given a score around the 50s even though i drove the same as another time i got a score of 99. Pi*s take.

Churchill WILL lose my business. If most of the journey tracking data is missing/inaccurate, why rate the driver? Which idiot wrote this junk?

After having this insurance provider for around a month my driving score has been maintained above 80 although I’ve had a few harsh breaks and acceleration the app only marked them and didn’t clock my score. This app does clock you for using hands free on your steering wheel which is a bit annoying but other than that there isn’t anything else wrong. Other reviews are slightly over the top. I’ve done late night drives where my score hasn’t been great but it hasn’t affected my overall score.

I’m being marked down for the time of day I drive, where I drive (back roads so I can get my kids to school) and mobile phone use, when I have hands free. This app cannot measure how safe a person is driving. Don’t think I’ll renew with Churchill next year mainly because of this app.
