You've found Drum Journey, the first app for shamanic journeying.
Shamanic journeying, as you probably already know, is a kind of insight meditation. It’s a spiritual practice that combines visualization with acoustic accompaniment, usually fast drumming or rattling.
Drum Journey works like a timer; dial in the journey duration, set your options, and tap Start. Included in the app are several professionally-produced drum and rattle tracks, and you can also import your own from iTunes.

- flexible journey duration, from 5 minutes to an hour
- choice of drumming styles (single, double, or with rattle)
- adjustable tempo (slow, normal, and fast)
- adjustable instrument volumes
- high quality drumming tracks
- works with AirPlay
- Optimized graphics for iPhone Retina screens
- light up the globe; share your location with other Drum Journey users
For centuries, shamans have used journeying to gain insight and clarity. I was inspired to create this app while participating in the three year program of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

Useful and easy to use
I like how you can choose the length, speed and whether it's drum and rattle or just drums. It works well for me.

Drumming with recall
Drums, natural and synthetic which can be combined together, and also with a rattle. Vary the duration, and even the tempo on the Ceremonial option. Excellent app!
Love this app
I love the combinations of drums and rattles you can choose and the duration choices are great as sometimes you only need a short time. The only thing I would like is an option for a bit of a lead in rather than straight into the main tempo.
A great app
This is a good app. The drumming is clear and has a good vibration to it. You can set it for different lengths of time and have callback. Highly recommended
Does what it says on the tin. Handy app.
Like the app but would prefer if it allowed me to specify beats per minute numerically on a sliding scale from say 180 to 280 I have given a higher rating .. The 3 presets are not enough for me.

Superb
This has a very natural sound - I have a friend who teaches shamanic journeying and this sounds just like his drumming. The drumming is great and the effective callback makes coming back easy and safe. I have to say that I think the drum and rattle bits of the app are unnecessary but some might like them. I think that perhaps a basic guide to journeying would be a useful addition. All in all though: brilliant.
