dubbii: the body doubling app

I know dubbii is for adults, but I got it for my five year old, who’s just been diagnosed with ADHD and has a long history of challenging behaviours. Dubbii has turned our morning and night routines from a series of exhausting battles into something that my son gleefully hurls himself into with gusto and enthusiasm. He loves Rich and Rox, and their non-judgemental tone is beautiful. We have a tricky household with me and my oldest son being autistic, and my five yr old being ADHD with suspected autism, and dubbi’s helped all of us become more regulated because there are less battles. Also, I’m so sorry, my son also has a PDA profile so if the app receives “suggestions” that say “this is a silly app!” over and over again, I caught him sending those over voice to text yesterday. He doesn’t mean it.

I love watching your videos social media Roxy and Rich. I’m recently late diagnosed Aussie ADHDer. A client put me onto this and I’m looking forward to really getting into cleaning up the house over Christmas. So far it looks amazing xx

Well sheer desperation made me download the app and I also adore ADHD Love. It’s still shiny and new so I’m not yet bored but so far I’ve done laundry and the kitchen. Bite sized chunks of chores. The race mode is awesome. Would love some support for bathrooms, and floors. Have suggested this in the app.

Where has this been my whole life?! On the one hand I’m embarrassed that I really need something like this and on the other hand I’m delighted that it exists! It’s also nice to know there are other people just like me in the world who also need it. I’ve always loved being on the phone while cleaning as the concentration required is so beyond me but it’s not always possible to rope friends and family into a call just so I can get housework done. This was even more effective than my phone call strategy and I cleaned things I would normally leave out. My kitchen/ dining table feels like a little slice of heaven!!!

It is absolutely clear that the creators care for their users. I have followed them for a long time! Creating relatable content for ADHDers. Now solutions to some of the most simple yet painful tasks! ADHD can be debilitating, especially when you need a body double. I see huge potential for this app and I love how they “remind you” and give you a nudge before you get impulsive and purchase the subscription! The subscription being reasonably priced as well!! This app stands out from other quick cash apps that don’t actually do anything to help people with ADHD. Other apps have little to no extra help. “Write a list” blah blah. Whereas we are given videos! Two types of instructions!! EXTRA help! Lots of options! I cannot express how much these creators care about their community and it is abundantly clear they do! 💕

Then done the same drive with cruise control, the kids on their best behaviour and it’s a beautiful sunny day? You still had to drive the whole way and it’s still a long trip. Not something I’m rushing to do but the destination is worth the work. That is the only way I can describe how it mentally feels to use Dubbii!!! This app is a GAME CHANGER!!! I had NO IDEA how complicated and inefficiently made I cleaning…. 🫣

This app is amazing and I’m so grateful for it. In one day I have managed to clean my bedroom and kitchen top to bottom which is unheard off. I mean, usually it would take me three days to clean one room. I would get debilitating paralysis as I was unsure where to start, then once finally being able to get on with it, I would get bogged down in task multiplication, waste time, feel hopeless and watch the junk and clutter pile up around me again. Thank you thank you thank you. I feel human again.

At the age of 42, I begun to realise that there’s a 99% chance that I have ADHD and am on the wait list to see a psych - who knows how long that will be. Whilst I don’t have a diagnosis, I can honestly relate to practically every that Rox shares, from not replying (or even opening) text messages, forgetting to shower, picking my clothes out of the floordrobe or washing the same load 5 times because I forget to hang it out. In my own research on ADHD, before I stumbled upon ADHD Love I had read about body doubling and how it can be useful to get things done. Reflecting back on my own behaviours, I realise that I definitely find it easier to do these mundane tasks when I have someone else around… so when you live alone, where does that get you? At first I was skeptical that the app would motivate me, but it is amazing how much it has helped and changed my routine. This morning I found myself tidying up my lounge before the app even reminded me. The only thing I would love to change is reminder function. It would be so much easier if could set the next time you did something by selecting a date or time, rather than adjusting it in hourly increments.

Such a cleaver idea. I don’t need it, but I downloaded it & watched a free video, such a brilliant tool to help people with the mundane daily tasks, none of us really wanna do. I’m sure it will help a lot of people. Well done.

I loved the free trial of the app, but haven’t been able to purchase a subscription as I am on a family sharing plan and don’t have my parents card details. Can you pls add the option to pay via a different card that is not attached to my Apple ID?
