Emergency: Severe Weather App

I’m curious about if the app can get alerts outside of the USA? Would be a great bonus for tourism. I know the Red Cross is international. Would be a great app for our military bases overseas to be able to shelter in place on military bases. Does the Red Cross provide apps similar to this for military bases in other countries? Just be careful with the app. For example tonight it failed to send me any notification that strong winds were coming to my area. I got into the app to check my settings. Turned out wind warnings were turned off. Finally figured out the app didn’t think I had any Internet connection when I did. I wouldn’t be able to write this comment about any Internet connection. If you’re not getting any notifications from the app double check your Internet connection. And double check the app itself is seeing the Internet.

I have this app set up for several different areas in the country where I have family and friends that I I’m concerned about the weather and other events in their areas. I swear this app pops up a notice about the same thing about every 10 or so minutes before writing this I just cleared over a dozen notices I’d received in the last hour for three of the locations. Before I could even tap the star rating three new alerts popped up from the areas that I just cleared. you need to adjust the only time that these alerts come out is upon initial issue upon notification of change of this condition or cancellation of the alert. This every 10 minutes repeat thing makes me want to delete your app which is counterproductive to notifying people of events could cause potential harm to life and property. If a fix doesn’t come out soon, I am likely going to just delete this app.

The most part this application is good I don’t like the alerts to tell you an alert is cancelled just let them expire.

App works well but needs three improvements. 1. Need the ability to set the volume of the alerts. It is CRAZY LOUD! Even with the iPhone volume all the way down or muted. Gives me a heart attack every time. EVERY time. 2. The tornado “cancellation” notification needs to be a different and less alarming tone from the Warning tone. Hard to tell at first if it’s a warning or cancellation without reading the entire alert. 3. Need the ability to narrow the warning area by a radius setting from the alert locations. Getting so many tornado alerts that are 20, 30 or more miles away from me is frustrating and unnecessary.

Never, ever get a warning about anything. Terrible for weather alerts and I’m assuming any other alert.

Why can’t I put the emergency weather app on my Home Screen? I want to be able to have this Emergency weather app on my “Home Screen “ . There is no option to add

i live in tornado alley and this all works fantastic! it will wake me up if their is a tornado on the ground near me and it’s nice to know if their is a storm coming so i can get my rigs in side. i like that even if my phone is on silent the alarm will still go off and i also really like that it is loud. the severe thunderstorm warning is not so loud but the tornado siren is really loud and i very much appreciate that. i do believe the app should be a little more user friendly and not so complicated but once you get it set up it’s nice. i think this app should be more advertised so more people know about this app. it is very useful i sleep much better at night!

So one time I was in the tropical storm and then say tornado warnings and then jump, scare me l what is a tornado warnings in our area but the answer is no, but it said, told me in the tornado warning again updated and I thought it was in our location for but no the true story…

Forcing us to use this app is unfair

The ‘tornado’ app we used to use worked so much better than this one. About 30 minutes ago the town I live in (alone) with my two small sons, was under tornado warning and I didn’t get a single notification for it. Sirens were blaring outside, but my phone gave me ZERO heads up. Thankful it wasn’t super bad, don’t want to even think about what could have happened had it been a close touch down with no warning.
