Cheaper prices aren’t always worth it. In the end I personally pay the same as uber & Lyft considering the extra amount I get charged. when the charge updates to the original price , it makes no difference to my balance even though the money should’ve been refunded. Almost every driver drives aggressively & takes longer routes using third party apps thus charging me more & making me late for work. This after my account was locked without notice beforehand led to me ultimately deleting this app

Just randomly blocked account when I contacted customer service which took days they wanted to know why I had a duplicate account. I told them I was unaware of any duplicate accounts. Their response was “In order to proceed with your account you would need to provide us with an explanation as to why your account was flagged in this way” My response If I knew we wouldn’t even be having this conversation, I thought that was the whole point of customer service was to figure it out. We eventually came to no conclusion because they never emailed back.

When the app first rolled out it significantly cheaper than Uber/lyft and fast forward 2024 there prices are the same if not more than Uber which is so disappointing. Their original business plan was being more affordable than both Uber and Lyft just to drive up their price just like their competitors.

A much more ethical alternative to Uber and Lyft! Thank you for making this service!

the drivers take foreverrr to get to you like literally most of my drivers are 3-5 minutes behind the estimated time they gave me. can’t contact them really , even had one apparently not follow GPS and literally just turned around 😭 but the prices are good but idk if a couple cents to some dollars off is worth being late at work all the time. Also i get charged more than what the ride costs, ride is $10 ? i’m charged 14. ride 6 ? charged $10… i order rides bc i have no car aka trying to save money so i don’t always have that amount and the ride literally won’t go through even if i have the emojis for it just not the extra money that they’ll literally eventually take off.

I can count on Empower to be cheaper than other ride share’s fare. I have yet to have an issue with using them.

I never write reviews but I’m so happy with this app and the drivers, I was incredibly skeptical to try this at first but it’s been very much worth it. The prices are much better than other apps, the drivers are happier getting all the money they earned and every vehicle has been clean with great drivers that are always nearby. 10/10.

I’ve used Uber and Lyft for many years. However, when Empower came on the scene four years ago in North Carolina, it changed the game in favor of not only the drivers, but the riders as well! Their options of having favorite drivers and gender match, are features that had long been requested of Uber and Lyft, yet never provided! In addition, after being tired of being burned with the incredibly high surges for both Uber and Lyft, it’s refreshing to get a ride on an app that while there may be a surge, it won’t be anything like what you see with Uber and Lyft at the same time! Additionally, new riders that sign up earn ride credits and can keep earning ride credits by using the refer a friend and refer a driver tabs in the app. Also, it’s great to see a software that lets drivers earn 100% of the fare. Drivers pay for a subscription and after that’s paid, they get to keep the remainder of their fares. You should give it a try!

Doesn’t work with credit cards. Have tried verifying multiple times but given multiple errors. Uber allows for the use of credit cards.
