The app looks great, and that’s about it. With AI turned purchase will empty out pockets at random and money will go missing. Messages to customer service aren’t viewed and aren’t responded to. Save yourself the frustration and anxiety and skip Envel.
RUN from this bank!!…The app is bizarre…it’ll cause one to think their money just POOF, DISAPPEARED!…Weird things happen, alot. I’ve also had to chat with support about inconsistent $ amounts displayed between different screens in the app…one envelope will say x amount transferred while the transactions screen will say a different y amount was transferred! Also there’s no way to set the app to set aside a consistent amount into an envelope per unit of time…example, I’d like to set aside $200/mo into a heating oil envelope…it literally can’t achieve that…it decides how much it’ll set aside regardless of the amount you set…They need to just start over with a separate app.

I banked with Envel for 1.5 years, including all of 2022. I saw improvements and fixes to many issues important to me during my time with the bank, but I also saw implementation of revenue features (investments) instead of what I thought were critical additions, like Mint/YNAB aggregator connections or data export to flat files (.csv or .xlsx) instead of impossible-to-parse PDFs. I'm trying to automate bill planning *and* evaluation of my financial health, which was impossible. I also found paying for something I saved for using an envelope to be clunky and unintuitive, but this was also true of Simple. Once they work out some more kinks, I may come back. Also, it's worth recognizing they partner with a smaller bank, not one of the fossil-fuel-financing Big Five. That's a big deal. Thanks for that.

I have been trying to register for weeks. No response from customer service, errors throughout the sign up process, and nowhere to go. Probably not worth trying for new customers.
We were locked out of our Account with no access to our money for days. We could not spend, we could not move money, payments were declined for recurring charges, and even direct deposit into this account was declined. There is no real time customer service and no way to talk to anyone directly except through email and chat and you rarely get a response. I strongly urge you to check out this company on the Better Business Bureau website before choosing to move your money there. You will see that multiple people have had this very same issue and the company is very arrogant with a canned response that is the same to everyone saying they can pretty much do whatever they want.
Nothing new and direct deposits seem to take longer than other banking companies
I would like to give a good review because I do like what is offered and think that it could work great for me. BUT, I cannot login no matter what I do. I’ve contacted customer service several times and had no response. So I guess the $1500 I just transferred to my Envel account is just gone now since I can’t access my account.
Sign up for Envel if you never want to know where your money is. Funds will move around from envelope to envelope without your consent care-free! The “killer feature” of Envel is its “ai” which is the worst thing to ever happen to your money. Do not use it. Also if you’re trying to build budgets with multiple people, shared envelopes are going away so don’t bother here.
