Focus Hero: Achieve your Goals

On my third ever “focus” (dedicating time to a task to earn points), when I went back into the app to collect my focus points, not only did it reset as though the task was never started, it also cleared out my existing points to zero.. Understanding that this is an indie project and a work-in-progress, I have no doubt that things will continue being fine-tuned, and eventually this will be a great product. But as of right now, I can’t reasonably pay for this app if there are still bugs that literally set your focus points back to zero. It undermines the entire concept of feeling accomplished upon completing a task. Maybe in a few months I will check back in on this app and see if there have been improvements, because I genuinely do like the premise and think this has the potential to be a good tool someday.

I set a 25min timer to focus on my chores. Kept going and repeating the timer and I was stoked as I was getting 2hrs worth of rewards and claiming them each time. Anyway on the last and 5th 25min timer I changed apps to change my music and turned off my phone and when I went back to the app I had lost all the rewards I claimed??? And it says I’ve done 0 hours of focus even tho I literally did 2 hours😭 . What a waste the app doesn’t even work.

I downloaded the app to try the free trial and immediately cancelled the subscription so I wouldn’t be charged at the end of the trial period. These guys charged my card over $100 for a full year so I have submit a refund request through apple. I’ve never had this happen with any other app so it feels pretty sketchy to me. I would avoid trying this app

So far the free trial seems worth it. I know that people are usually apprehensive when the app is locked behind a pay wall at some point but give it a shot. Just remember to remove the subscription immediately after agreeing to the trial so you can try it out without looming fear of accidentally paying. Overall the games seem really cool!

I love that you can leave the focus timer on while doing other things on your phone like having music on or having a video playing while you work/study. I can’t seem to get the ambient noise to work when I have earbuds connected. So far that’s the only issue I’ve had.
