I am a student, and I have been using this apps for two of my etextbooks for the last three years. It is easily the worst out of the 5 different apps I use for my etextbooks. I have several reasons for this. 1. If you go out of the app and then back into it, you will have lost your place in the book and the app will refresh and send you back to the main menu 2. The app is extremely laggy and flat out impractical to be using as a student who needs their textbook open swiftly. 3. Unlike many other ebook apps, it’s very tricky to highlight text and it doesn’t allow you write freehand on the pages, only digital sticky notes which are bulky and a hassle. You might be wondering why I don’t just use the physical copy of the book if it’s that bad, but the school I’m currently attending doesn’t allow that. Besides, these apps should be up to a higher standard.

Genuinely awful, god forbid you want to close the app for 2 seconds and keep your page open. Out of all ebook apps this is truly awful. The most frustrating and annoying app out there

This is by far one of the worst apps I’ve ever used.it simply doesn’t function properly

I have downloaded this app to my iPad but it crashes before it opens fully.

Just awful and glitchy. I have my mock exams starting tomorrow and it took me about 2 hours to get this stupid thing working. So now I’ve missed out on studying that I really needed to do.

As a teacher, you had to use the online Folens Hive site to access books etc, with talks of updating the app to support teacher editions down the line. Myself and my colleagues were excited, because we’ve all had complaints with the site over the years. That update arrived and it’s somehow worse than the website. It crashes if you look at it wrong. It has no memory of what page it crashed or was closed on. It struggles to load landscape pages, often just loading a single one sideways. It struggles to zoom without deloading other elements on the page. All of this on a 2022 iPad? Easy to see where the problem is.

Understandable if an app has a few bugs, but when the main demographic is stressed 5th and 6th year students, the least you could do is NOT have the e-book reset every time you leave the app. After a stressful day of school and study, this kind of stuff just really pushes me over the edge😩😩 Please please PLEASE just fix this app😖😖🙏🙏🙏

Whenever I try to log in it tells me I have to log in on the website then I do it and it still doesn’t let me log in. I need this app to do my schoolwork and it doesn’t let me 👎👎👎

I genuinely have no clue how you can fail at making an app for reading books this bad.
