moving into my second year with fretello
i started using this app in june 2018, knowing nothing about guitar solos, barely moving my fingers across the fretboard (only to produce strange, unpleasant sounds). during this year, i used the app almost every day, sometimes even several times a day. fretello became my companion in this fascinating guitar journey and i missed it every time i couldn’t do my excercises, for one reason or another. of course, there’s a lot to improve (better backing tracks, more customizable exercises charts, diversifying the exercises, perhaps visual feedback like yousician provides), but overall this is the best app to get your fingers moving better and better on the guitar neck. the exercises are well structured, varying the basic techniques (alternating picking and legato), helping your fingers to gain confidence and precision. looking back at myself one year ago i cannot believe the progress... well, i didn’t become steve vai, but now i confidently can tailor a guitar solo, in every key! if you look for an app to help you become a shreder overnight, look somewhere else. fretello is not promising you the impossible. but it teaches you that good things come to those who work patiently. therefore, i decided to renew my anual subscription, to better my skills. thank you, fretello, for the first one year. you are a precious teacher and friend.
