FunkBox Drum Machine

I play and record a bunch of different instruments but I’m nowhere near a competent (on time) drummer. For the styles I play (hip hop/soul), FunkBox allows me to create amazing grooves with timeless sounds. Honestly not sure why this app doesn’t have more reviews. It has so many of the classic drum machines that I grew up hearing. Took me a while to figure out that if you tap on the image of the drum machine in the ‘Box’ tab, that you can build your own drum machine from the samples of each classic machine. The only issue I have so far is that I can’t figure out (or it needs to be added) how to start/stop the drum machine while in any tab other than the ‘Funk’ tab.

It was the first app I purchased when I switched to Apple on the old iPhone 5 many years ago. I still use it regularly, and I still love the **** out of it. So easy to use!!! 100% would purchase again. THANK YOU ❤️

Great app, the only thing is why can't you raise the tempo above 180? Would be great if you could implement.

I have had many old jams with my writing partner and the Korg 55. This app does a great replication of those sounds and feels.. Love it. Thank you.

As the other reviewer has stated you are supposed to be able to export to "iTunes" but this does not work. I was hoping to build loops with this and audiopaste individual stems into auria but I managed to do one and now funkbox will not produce any sound (not using any external syncing). I should be able to have both Auria and funk box open and just audiocopy from funkbox and then audiopaste into Auria. I know this isn't a problem with Auria because this is how I work with many other apps. Come on guys, some simple testing would have picked this up.

A really good app until you try and export a tube you created. You're given options where to open the song/ tune but it never works. A real let down and a bit of a rip off.

It's really great to have a drum machine that has that vintage feel, but also accurately reproduces those classic sounds. You can even customize to sounds or even import and use your own samples. This machine is also easy to navigate and easy to program, you can get straight in and create amazing beats. The recording option is great too, and you can export audio or midi files which is a real benefit. There are also comprehensive midi options and the very handy background audio function that keeps the app running when you switch to your favorite synth app. But it's really the great sound and ease of use that keeps me coming back for more.

But the only reason I bought it was for a 3/4 beat. I thought an app of this price would at least let you change meter?

If you want the retro feel of those great sounding analogue beat boxes from the 1970's thru to present day Machine Drum, then this app is right for your midi set-up. Create your own beats & save them in either wav or midi file.

I would pay a lot more for this app. The last update was fantastic.
