It’s too riddled with inconsistent performances, or not working at all. Arcane and without YouTube there would be things that are unknowable for an average musician working in the digital world. But strangely it mostly all worked ok in my DAWs until recently - now the SWAM packs I’ve thrown money at don’t work in GarageBand or LogicPro, but the poor native instruments do. And the performances I’ve previously recorded all sound abysmal, with all the nuances in my playing absolutely gone. Caution advised.

GeoShred has some terrific sounds, especially the Naada and SWAM in-app purchases. High quality instruments including exotic stuff that is hard to find on IOS. Selecting what you want is STILL a scrolling nightmare, despite the recent update, and that update has caused my previous purchases to not show up in AU3 mode. Yes, I have ‘restored purchases’ in stand alone, and still the problem persists. Hopefully this will be fixed fast. GeoShred with Riffler the guitar app (not to be confused with Riffer) under AUM or in Loopy Pro, and you have the basis of a hard rocking band!

Selecting what you want is a scrolling nightmare, but that is being addressed in a future update, I’m informed. Sometimes thing get mixed up and settings are not retained as AU3. In the most severe cases, deleting the app and reinstalling fixes this problem. Pat (technical man at development) is very keen to address issues. Pair GeoShred with Riffler the guitar app (not to be confused with Riffer) both under AUM or in Loopy Pro, and you have the basis of a hard rocking band!

As someone who, by no stretch of the imagination, can be classed as a musician/player I have managed to master the GeoShred playing surface and on occasion convince ‘players’ that I am a ‘more than capable’ multi- instrumentalist. I have to admit it’s all thanks to the developers and their ‘instrument’. Based on a stringed instrument, you set it up to your taste and away you go. The support team are very helpful and are guaranteed to speedily get back to you with answers to your queries. Yes, a joy to ‘play’.

I’ve been searching long and hard for great guitar tones and GeoShred absolutely delivers in that department. Customisation goes as deep as you want it to. And it’s a lot of fun and super playable, whether playing the GUI itself or using an MPE controller. I never play a gig without it. The addition of SWAM patches brings this instrument to a whole new level. My wish is that they develop electric bass sounds one day. But for now this is my absolute go to.

This is a serious instrument which can be used in serious musical productions! Hugely expressive, and just like a ‘real’ musical instrument, it rewards practice. I’ve used GeoShred in many of my released musical productions and the quality of the sounds is outstanding. I particularly like the the sax, violin and flute IAPs, but many of the included instruments sound fantastic. It is also easy to get instant and gratifying sounds from simple noodling with the presets - it’s enormous fun.
