Guardian Feast

One thing I’d love to see included is the nutritional information for each dish for those of us who track such stuff.

Love the recipes and the fact you can filter by dietary preferences. However, I’m not a fan of the app itself. First, you can’t sync across devices which is gob smacking to me. Why the heck not?!? I would expect this from a free app, but not a subscription. I use my iPad for meal planning and viewing recipes while cooking but sometimes need to refer to a recipe on my phone in the grocery store to check an ingredient. Also, if you ever have to delete the app (when it gets buggy) and reinstall, all your saved recipes will be gone. That’s right! GONE. Again, would expect this from a free app, not a subscription.

App is buggy, doesn’t always load on phone. Recipes a little odd for N American tastes. I haven’t tried adding roasting juices to salad dressings but it doesn’t sound appetizing

The search function still needs a lot of work. For example, if you search for a term like “chestnut purée”, you get five hits. Only one recipe had chestnut purée. The others just had some kind of purée in the ingredients. But oddly that’s not all the recipes that have purée in the ingredients. And if you search for just chestnut you get tons of recipes because I guess in Britain, they’re such a thing as chestnut mushrooms. I have no idea how to search function is working, but it’s certainly not useful. The guardian recipes are great, and having an app that gives you better ways of finding a recipe would be fantastic. But this is just not that app.

I don’t have to hope there are no typos in the recipes. The layout of the pages is excellent - very little scrolling up and down. No ads! I can search by the creator of the recipe, type, event, and ingredients. I may not make the recipe of the day but it often inspires me or reminds me of something I haven’t made for a while.

Great app with excellent recipes. Easy to use. Save feature for your favourites is a plus. The start cooking feature that stops your device from going to sleep is an excellent idea. I had a gripe in a previous review that I couldn’t then see the ingredients but a developer contacted me directly via email and explained the button on the bottom left of the screen that I hadn’t noticed brings the list up. Great recipes, great app AND great customer service.

It said there were in app ads when i decided to get this app …fine i thought. But as soon as I opened it it said it was a 14 day trial. I felt conned Sso I removed the app without using it.

Didn’t get to try as had to sign up for a 14 day free trial without any info of what the subscription cost will be after the end of free trial! HOW MUCH IS IT?

Such a great range of recipes, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian. I’ve discovered so many new dishes, and really expanded my menu. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t properly search by ingredient, a major flaw on a recipe app. If they could fix that, it would be even better.
