About Kamini Desai:
For the last 25 years Kamini has created unique body of teachings combining the ancient wisdom of yoga with modern psychology.
She is the Education Director and Core Curriculum Developer of the Amrit Yoga Institute, a cutting edge teaching center for advanced studies in eastern philosophy. She is one of three Founding Directors of the International University of Yoga and Ayurveda with Dr. Vijay K Jain, MD and Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla.
Considered an expert in the inner sciences of yoga, relaxation and artful living, she is a frequent guest speaker and teacher at various nationally accredited institutions and in over 10 countries worldwide. In 2012 she was awarded the title of Yogeshwari (a woman of yogic mastery) for her keen ability to bring ancient illumination to the genuine challenges of the human experience.
Kamini is the acclaimed author of the book, “Yoga Nidra: The Art of Transformational Sleep,” which uniquely illuminates the ancient teachings of Yoga Nidra with modern science and psychology.

Brilliant app I’ve had it for over a year. I always get a good deep and restorative sleep. Even if I do wake up early I feel well rested so I can get in with my day without tiredness and stress. If I wake in the idle of the night I go through it again and straight back to sleep. I very rarely get through the whole meditation unless my mind is particularly busy and negative. But I tend to journal when I notice that and then go back to the app. It’s brilliant. And the others are very good too!

When ever I’m having trouble falling asleep I put on one of the meditations. Before discovering this I used to take a couple of hours to fall asleep but often I’m asleep or very relaxed and feeling positive after any of the meditations.

Telling me to be calm

I’m no yogi but constantly telling me that I can now ‘fell calm’ or ‘be at peace..’ doesn’t work. Very little on breath work or anything constructive to a bringing you out of negative thoughts. Very basic and middle of the road meditation.

I have recommended this app to so many people. I love kamini’s voice and the kind nurturing words she uses. 5 nidras on your phone whenever you need them. They are very good and I always feel better.

I have only had this app for a short time as I only learned about Kamini Desai recently. I was diagnosed this year with a heart condition. There are various symptoms associated with it such as unstable heart rhythm, shortness of breath, dizziness. It amazes me how dramatically and quickly the Yoga Nidra brings calm, stability and a slower heart rate. I am not a doctor, of course, so I cannot say what is right for someone else. But, I can only imagine this would be a great supplemental protocol when the body requires a deep physiological response for healing. Give it a try and ask your doctor about it. I also had insomnia for many years and can say how wonderful it is to get a good night’s rest and wake up refreshed every morning. This is the “magic” of Yoga Nidra! The different focuses of the sessions are very useful too as it provides a choice depending on what you need. My favourite is the healing focus. Kamini Desai has a warm, welcoming and calming voice which is easy to listen to and follow.

Meditation is needed in life. Instead of coupe in with vices , Meditation can alleviate those scenarios . I’ve used this app for 3 months and it’s perfect for anyone . I totally recommend it !!

It doesn’t get any easier than this to get to the core of your “stuff.” Lay down. Hit play. Follow along and repeat often. Other therapies and mediations might take months to reach the root cause of your pain with lots of mental anguish to process the underlying issues. With I AM Yoga Nidra your pain, blocks, and suffering effortlessly dissolve. I am always more at peace after using this app. Love the “healing shifts” one in particular but also the one for “self expression” and healing relationships. Kamini Desai is a world renown master teacher in understanding the power of intention, affirmations and the science behind this effortless ancient practice to reach restorative sleep like states. She has taught thousands of other teachers worldwide including myself. I tell all my students that this app is the best bargain in town that WILL restore balance and peace on all levels.

Beautiful app, horrible cuing

The cuing comes across as heavy-handed with spiritual-type directives rather than neutral, gentle and suggestive. The narrator tells you to give yourself to a “higher power,” and trust. Fine if you want to but it’s not everybody’s jam. The narration created cognitive discomfort, the very thing I need to leave behind to fall asleep.
